  1. Consider the framing today: "Trump is doing all these terrible things, making all of these drastic changes, exploiting the system to his will."

The Dems can no longer use the excuse that the president is handcuffed. Trump 2.0 is showing us what the president can do. The dems consistently use that excuse to prevent popular policies from being enacted. Obama even had a ~6mo super majority where he could have codified abortion rights. But instead they keep it around as an outstanding issue because it is a good fundraising issue.

  2. finally some good news.
  3. humans are perverts. who knew?
  4. might? ascii art has a pervert problem.
  5. Just wanted to drop a quick note that I donated to the Dark Reader project. long overdue. I use Dark Reader every day across multiple browsers and it's become one of those essential extensions I install immediately on any new setup. It genuinely reduces eye strain, especially during long hours of reading documentation, sometimes i forget I'm even using it.

The fact that it works so well across a huge variety of sites is seriously impressive. Huge thanks to the Dark Reader team.

  6. cool, more airplane space junk collisions in our future. thanks.
  7. its so they can put ads in it without you being able to block them like you can in Thunderbird.
  8. no, AI is supposed to reduce the labor costs for companies. that is how the AI companies are marketing their AI services to corporate C teams. any other benefits that their marketing departments are pushing to the public are smoke screens.
  9. once we've gotten rid of the nation state and private corporations own everything then certainly everyone will be better off. /s
  10. 996 culture can pound sand. lame.
  11. salary aside, the vibe coders are exposing themselves to increased cognitive decline which should be a strong enough incentive to avoid AI to begin with. maybe they already had a cognitive impairment before reading this MIT study and can't understand the risk.
  12. If left to the generosity of companies to allow us to control the hardware we purchase then we will never be able to modify the hardware we purchase again. There are no inalienable rights that we, as humans, do not define and legislate ourselves. If we want unfettered control of the hardware that we purchase then we need to codify it into law.
  13. Anyone who doesn't agree with this is a collaborator and should be publicly shamed.
  14. you don't need analytics for most of the stuff you do.
  15. never provide these services with personal data / identifiers.
  16. regardless of what the corporations say we do own the devices we purchase.
  17. meat crayon

  19. No thanks. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I will just stop using your service if you require age identification from me.
  20. Cool, more railroad monopolies, yay.
  21. Internet communities are heavily censored if you want discuss anything that falls outside of mainstream centrist or conservative right-wing narratives. Try discussing left alternatives to capitalism on any of the major platforms. Shadow banned to the void. Even discussing industry centric unionization efforts and workers rights issues gets you zapped.
