My statements are for discussion purposes only and do not represent my employer nor necessarily my own personal views.

  1. Looks like they were moved to the Ozzie subfolder: https://github.com/microsoft/MS-DOS/tree/main/v4.0-ozzie
  2. The concept and visualization reminds me a lot of similar technology in the TV show Person of Interest. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Person_of_Interest_(TV_serie...

It's quite interesting to think about how relevant the themes being discussed in that show are ever present today.

  3. All the features you mentioned are part of regular (included) Autopilot, not Enhanced, or FSD.
  4. HSMs typically will have a fixed number of login attempts that reset only on successful login.

If the password verification attempts are passed through directly to the HSM, then yes, this is standard.

  5. Do you mean, we won't have another situation, if FB continues its hard stance towards unauthorized data collection?

Cause otherwise, I don't see how they could have another Cambridge Analytica situation if what they're doing is sharing _less information_.

  6. Is it still happening? Seems to have been resolved for my friend that was hit.
  7. For security purposes, likely all prior entries are kept on hand with the time, for some retention period, before being wiped.
  8. Do you mean Apple, whose usage of the PSL caused this?
  9. Oculus feels fine to me, more comfortable then the index at least. Though for the index I've switched to prescription lenses which is obviously the most comfortable choice.
  10. Wrong link/title? Title seems to match something posted 2 hours before this: https://www.hackerneue.com/item?id=26528385
  11. Checking the uploader, it seems to be the same.
  12. Works great now!
  13. This us cool, it seems to ignore the start and destination I give it though, and the Google Maps API key seems to have errors.
  14. Unless it's hidden under the paywall fold, I don't see the article mentioning that's what's planned?
  15. Looks like your link was cut off: https://ai.facebook.com/blog/paving-the-way-for-software-20-...

(Missing the -with-kotlin at the end)

  16. Pattern matching is distinct from switch cases, this is where the "odd" behavior people are taking issue with stems from. If it were a switch case statement, the case behavior would behave differently.
  17. True, but it's a lot easier if the capital itself is a palindrome as it saves you space to meet the other conditions (or just use a short city name).
  18. I agree, but part of it I think is more finely grained permission requests. ie. Distinguishing viewing X's data, vs viewing data as X. That still doesn't solve the issue where the typical person doesn't actually read permission requests, but should still provide better security.
  19. Did you mean to reply to the parent comment?

But also, going by your logic, whatever is going on here is because something was depirioritized in favour of profit. The issue with that though, is that improper deletion would be detrimental to metrics in my opinion, not positive.
