  1. Me too. I had a secondary monochrome monitor just for the text commands.
  2. Nice, and in that same plaza is Harbor Freight.
  3. I believe one of the authors L. Peter Deutsch, is the original developer of Ghostscript.
  4. I worked on a very capable unix based CASE system for Athena Systems in 88 & 89. There's still some articles about it online like here https://www.worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Electronics/80s/88... (complete with screen shots) on page 37. What I recall being the uphill battle was fighting the peace dividend granted by the cold war ending. Defense contractors, our primary market, we’re in cost cutting mode for a decade.
  5. Flight radar shows a normalized approach where speed and altitude conform to that standard. I wonder if late wind shear was the issue.
  6. I cannot find any evidence on IMDB or Wikipedia that he had involvement.
  7. “BeOS did not have printing” was the insult thrown around at the time.
  8. I think the intent is that water is a byproduct of combustion.
  9. "Entropy is a property of matter that measures the degree of randomization or disorder at the microscopic level", at least when considering the second law.
  10. If you want to get better at mathematical modelling in general I recommend a traditional text book dedicated to modeling, like the 11th edition of "Introduction to Operations Research" by Hillier and Lieberman.

As for the "mathematical equations" referred to by a parent, we're talking linear algebraic equations with perhaps a 2nd order term thrown in for quadratic models. I think these should be within the grasp of someone who wants to delve into the topic, and if not perhaps it's a good place to start dig deeper.

edited to be less of a prick.

  11. In engineering text books, sure they use radians. In mechanical engineering design if you put a radian on a geometrical dimensioning and tolerance sheet it's not going to go well for you.

I suspect the same holds for civil engineering too. I have my doubts that radians are useful in chemical engineering, but I could be wrong there.

  12. Hopefully the next part covers some of the compilers available on the 68k personal computers of the late mid to late 80s. MegaMax and Manx come to mind a some of the more prominent examples.
  13. Considering the 4th edition of "Expert Systems: Principles and Programming" (The original book on CLIPS) is going for $300 at amazon, you are offering a good alternative.

I worked with Gary Riley and Joe Giarratano at JSC in the mid 80s when CLIPS was in heavy development. Joe had the unique ability to teach very technical topics with a special brand of humor.

Knowing CLIPs got me my first job in Silicon Valley / Los Altos in '88. Thanks Gary!

  14. 90% or higher? No way, there’s not a credible large scale survey that makes that claim. Closer to 15-25% suffer from incontinence permanently. And 30-50% will have ED. And 100% of outcomes will loose inches.

50% of RALP patients will have biochemical reoccurrence within 8 years. It takes 15 years of low PSA (<.1ng/ml) to state you are cured.

The goal is to die with PaC, not because of it.

All of these stats are available at PCRI.

  15. I understand and agree. I was Gleason 7: 4+3 intermediate aggressive. Caught it very early, no spread, so RALP was performed 5 months ago. Now I’m deep in the throws of pelvic floor PT hoping to gain some semblance of control again.

Hopefully your surgeon has performed (unlike mine) more than 1000 RALPs - the incontinence outcomes improve greatly when their experience is that high.

Best of luck to you. DM me at gmail if you need/want to talk about your upcoming RALP.

  16. Gleason scores already designate 5 different types/categories of PaC, and this score strongly influences what type of barbaric treatment one will receive.

I hope their findings help discovery of humane immunotherapy’s.

  17. This reminds me of scheduling for contact centers with agent skill based constraints and service level requirements.
  18. "Pounds of fuel" are used when, after declaring an inflight emergency, ATC requests information for on ground fire rescue along with number of souls on board.
  19. It's still sitting in his shop. RP is not going to sell it.
  20. As does the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 , aka The Terminator!
