  1. No, and thankfully that is not something LLM's can do.
  2. It's kinda cool but I'm never going to put my z-wave network on an internet connected device that is a complete security/privacy fail out of the gate.

I'm also never going to put a "IoT" device in my home, just turning a light on and off does not make a thing "smart".

  3. Check with your local non-profits, most 2nd hand no warranty/guarantee shops are in your local small industrial parks and sell mostly to non-profits or very small companies.

They will not have a store front or advertise you'll just call the owner and ask if they have "X" or equivalent and if so you can go get it. I've used a few of them over the years for monitors and wyse terminals for small businesses.

  4. It's feasible, just not sure it's profitable.

Your biggest issue is going to be EU/UK (un)encryption laws now that Switzerland is breaking.

A standalone home/cloud VM server would probably be easier than a full cloud based google like system that can easily be throttled at it's one source by any EU agency/government.

  5. As long as you realize that is not how LLM's currently work.
  6. Just like your comment wasn't a serious comment, anyone defending this rich asshole has no idea what he's actually saying.

This was a backhand to anyone not born rich and in a CS program that he's purposely trying to make a permanent burger flipper. It's the exact same vain as Biden's "coal miners should learn to code" shit.

  7. There just copying Kagi (https://kagi.com/) who did it first and better than anything Google is going to be able to muster.
  8. Or I could use any text based editor to do that without AI.
  9. "there will be another crisis someday" ... yes I guess that's always true in general.

I can agree it might be crypto but not because of "crypto" specifically it's more about the banking deregulation and the abomination called Fintech as a whole that will more than likely cause a community to regional banking crises due to all of the SanFran startups buying and then running banks into the ground. Crypto is just the cool boy thing they are using to buy said banks.

  10. Sadly no. Russia already controls the important (rich) coastal lands and the single mineral mining area now. There is no reason for him to turn anything over without a complete invasion from the USA which is not in the country's interests.

The Ukraine lost several years ago and has no chance of winning at this point as the death toll on there side is not only larger but more devastating.

The thing you need to worry about is the next step, regaining Georgia's oil reserves.

  11. The saddest thing about the Zuck is it's not even his line.

He lifted "Personal Superintelligence" and the "vision" word for word from far smarter people than himself from nearly a decade ago. That story was already reported on.

  12. Who's going to take up his mantle Mr. Desch ?
  13. To be fair Abraham Loeb is a quick sliding Baby Boomer who's closer to 70 than 50. Like Ridley Scott (when was the last good Alien movie?) his tank has to be on empty at this point.
  14. No they do not. They buy from local or state distributors who are national sized companies. They may or may not buy from China and Mexico.

But no small business is buying napkins and straws directly from China.

  15. Well that's confusing, small businesses by there very nature are local businesses and there supply chains has very little to nothing to do with internationals tariffs.

But Bloomberg has to fearmonger that's there way.

  16. You do not have 'civil liberties' in the UK. There is no Miranda rights and there bill of rights is strictly based on the Magna Carta and is not as comprehensive and the US Bill of Rights which was based off of the UK version.

    Per the wiki:

Civil liberties have been gradually declining in the United Kingdom since the late 20th century. Their removal has been generally justified by appeals to public safety and National Security and hastened on by crises such as the September 11 attacks, the 7/7 bombings and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.[4][5][6] The pandemic oversaw the introduction of the Coronavirus Act 2020, which was described by former Justice of the Supreme Court Lord Sumption as "the greatest invasion of personal liberty in [the UK's] history."

  17. Look at the original Honeywell Z-Wave products, still going strong and still doesn't need an internet connection to work.

They will work with any Z-Wave/Zigbee compatible controller.

  18. Some one has been hitting the wacky weed a bit to much I think.
  19. Check with your public power company they are the only ones that let you buy into a solar farm you will never see that from a private company which is nearly all of the solar/wind mega's.

Putting panels on your roof is not an investment it's power freedom from serge pricing models. It's a home not an investment.
