- beardedmanYea, it was a rhetorical question.
- > the global south
Care to elaborate what you mean by "the global south"?
EDIT: Downvoted for asking a question? Did all the StackOverflow mods come to HN?
- So glad we're condensing entire tech stacks down to a language now.
- Appreciate the comment, but just genuinely curious. You guys seem to be clamping down on freemium, but not really landing any valuable "hooks" (product-wise). Would something like a better overall project management experience not be more urgent than a command pallete? Not to be nitpicky, but GH now has a scheduler component on top of custom fields - not amazing, but adds a ton of flexibility.
- I would love to know how dev resources are being spent there. Feels like every blog article these days is touting some small enhancement as some big feature. Meanwhile GitHub is pushing out actual new features.
- ...long term visa for high earning remote workers...
- ChatGPT has way more of a probability to hit the singularity first, thus rendering all coding efforts futile & useless, whilst it ushers in the machine apocalypse. So write that FE framework before you get taken away and used as a bio-battery for the great machine king.
- Pretty good point actually.
- To have more sex?
EDIT: My god, it was a joke.
- The guy sure knows how to toot his own horn.
- I guess my question here is: what exercise/s are you referring to with "majority of our aerobic exercise"?
- Sadly I fall in the "scientific experiments" group! :) I don't think my wife even needs to floss.
- FWIW, many years ago I used to have a real problem with bleeding gums whenever I brushed my teeth (mainly around my molars). Flossing daily solved that completely.
- Sure we're going to have a "CEO should take responsibility" comment pretty soon.
- > In some ways we’re all consultants
Surprisingly true!
- I haven't made any comment on the manner, nor assumed that those "HN'ers" were the ones layed off (which I think is a bit of a stretch anyways). I'm only commenting that whenever one of these "x company lays off x people" posts get made, you have this pitchfork-party effect happening.
EDIT: added missing words
- I'd be interested to know the age (or any other) demographic of HN'ers commenting on posts like these. Lot of people sounding very personally slighted by companies trying to remain profitable (or just in business).
- The lack of objectivity around this is absolutely astonishing from a community such as this.
It exploded with complexity because frontend complexity exploded. Simple. Absolutely no people expected an "API call" from a frontend application 20 years ago, now people expect loading indicators on buttons (that make API calls) after pressing them.
Just have a look at the comments on the recent Standard Notes / React Native post. https://www.hackerneue.com/item?id=34197613
- Read my original post.
> copying actual IP.
This is exactly the problem they're facing.
PS; labels & text are part of the UI.
- It's really not.
