  1. Please be clearer about this on the site!
  2. This is why I only use agent mode on other people's computers
  3. Perhaps we are witnessing a early shift toward ideographic writing
  4. Interesting, I would make the exact opposite conclusion from the same data: if AI coding was that bad, we'd see more crapware.
  5. > Model efficiency could improve faster than expected.

There are compounding incentives for this. I see this as the most likely outcome, though it will likely be stepwise rather than gradual.

  6. I think there are still innovations at that layer like the Addition is All You Need paper.
  7. There's still a lot out there.
  8. Reminds me of all the dark fiber laid in the 1990s before DWDM made much of the laid fiber redundant.

If there is an AI bust, we will have a glut of surplus hardware.

  9. Like Postgres has PostGIS, SQLite has Spatialite. https://www.gaia-gis.it/fossil/libspatialite/index

Unsure about integrating it with Pocketbase but I imagine it is reasonable to do.

  10. Isn't HN already a simulator?
  11. Anyone know of a good place to buy a new linear slide rule? I know there's a circular slide rule manufacturer but am not sure if any linears are being made any longer.
  12. I pay 21 cents per kWh and only 11% of my grid is nuclear.
  13. Zero Trust, except for the trust in Cloudflare.
  14. Reinvestments in the business factor into a different ratio. This only factors operating expenses.
  15. Brew Casks are quite different from the App Store, but there is a CLI for the App Store if you want that: https://github.com/mas-cli/mas
  16. Worked on my iPhone
  17. I would ensure it is easily reimageable and restorable to a known good state.
  18. I think this can be extended (but not necessarily fully mitigated) by working with non-SWE agents interacting with the same codebase. Drafting product requirements, assess business opportunities, etc. can be done by LLMs.
