   I wonder if Visopsys, Windows 3.11 and others could work as a daily driver running in qemu, started from a Linux initrd that has just a browser and qemu. "Opening" the browser in Visopsys actually switches to the browser running on the host, and Alt-Tab switches back to Visopsys.

    Is there a tool that records the timestamp of each executed command during a build, and when you rebuild, it tells you how much time is left instead of "building obj 35 out of 1023" ?

    Or (for cmake or ninja) use a CSV that says how long each object takes to build and use it to estimate how much is left ?

    "Assembly language of FFmpeg" leads me to think of -filter_complex. It's not for human consumption even once you know many of its gotchas (-ss and keyframes, PTS, labeling and using chain outputs, fading, mixing resolutions etc).

    But then again no-one is adjusting timestamps manually in batch scripts, so a high-level script on top of filter_complex doesn't have much purpose.

    For some reason, when ffmpeg reencodes from 23.97fps h264 to the same fps and codec, the result looks choppy, like the shutter speed was halved or something. The smart lossless encoding you mentioned helps a lot here.

    AFAIK the keyboard in question only uses USB for charging. It can't send keys over the wire.

    That said, before getting the MX keys I bought a Dell 7440 keyboard on ebay for $20, fastened it on top of a 6mm clear acrylic plate with M3 screws, along with a Teensy chip running kbd firmware:

    How did copy-pasting text between programs fit in the initial shell design ? You can't paste from a remote tmux to a local one, you can't mouse-copy multiple lines from a vim vertical split, etc. Where's the terminal clipboard that works across programs ?
