  1. Don't you think it helps seeing opposing perspective, especially if it might likely be the majority opinion rather than just be an echo chamber of all the other comments agreeing with each other on how it's unfair and inefficient how unaffordable housing has become?
  2. average and median inheritance is tiny, few thousand dollars
  3. I tried it out, looks nice and clean.

But as I mentioned, my main concern is what will happen in 6 months when you fail to get traction and abandon it. Because that's what happened to previous 5 products I tried which were all "good enough" .

Getrecall seems to have a big enough user base that will actually stick around.

  4. there are literally hundreds of extensions and sites that do this

the problem is that they are competing each other into the ground hence they go unmaintained very quickly

getrecall.ai has been the most mature so far

  5. Does that mean LLMs can already be considered conscious at some level since they are able to reason and self reflect?
  6. Pokémon guides were definitely part of every LLM training set. Game is so old, there are thousands of guides and videos on the topic.

LLMs will readily offer high quality Pokémon gameplay advice without needing to searc online.

  7. the diagrams are accurate and amazing!

what do you use to draw them?

  8. with LLMs able to generate infinite synthetic data to train on it seems like AGI is just around the corner
  9. how is it net negative effect? they have Hundreds of millions of ACTIVE users

even if it was spun off to be stand alone product without Instagram it would still be worth billions

  10. Advances math helps with developing logical thinking and in general makes you smarter.

But I agree we could achieve same results by teaching more practical skills. Maybe, programming (data structures and algorithms) over calculus?

  11. I've been all over China and it's true current generations are only all too happy to be rich and quite often obscenely rich.

They have very real understanding that all of it could be unilaterally taken away by the state at any time, so even if they flash their wealth they keep their mouths shut. At the same time many do buy in to state propoganda.

But what of their children who are born into comfort of middle class and are less materialistic and willing to fight to justice?

  12. such a shift in demographics will bring a lot of difficult societal problems that come with emerging Middle Class who will want more housing and more freedoms
  13. Lets not forget that's where WW2 was fought and won. With two thirds of German army committed to eastern front, the entire D-day Normandy is just a pheriphiral operation.

Even Soviet propaganda aside, Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg now) objectively wasn't abandoned due to naked greed of the elite, after all USSR was fighting for survival and had to make tough decisions. Even if Stalin didn't care about the people, the city itself was really important strategically.

  14. hey, that's a niche too

just tag it in a non-offensive way (deep-state related?) and allow other users to filter it out

  15. How did you get the latency so low?

Is it going through your own backend or directly connects to OpenAI for transcription?

  16. doctors don't have any experience doing that and are set in their ways

Maybe, it's diagnosing chronic conditions is an opportunity for a disruptive startup?

    Crowd sourced diagnosis detective work!

Call it DrHouse.io, you dump your data and hobbyist doctor investigators try to figure a diagnosis that fits all the symptoms

Top ranking users collect mad fees from "commissioned" diagnosis.

  17. That's like saying you can't compare a sedan to a truck.

    Sure you can.

Even though one is more appropriate for certain tasks than the other.

  18. From your strawman example, 1-employee companies wouldn't be competitive and even a small team would be able to offer more value than anybody else competing for funding due to deficiencies of scale.

Why doesn't this happen with research?

  19. Whoever is funding projects are probably also interested in results over beaurocracy and it's not immediately clear how they are at all locked into this system.

They got the money, they set the rules of the game.

The fact that this isn't solves tells me that it's difficult or impossible to actually recognize promising ideas except to go by track record which leads to the problems you mentioned.

  20. classic race to the bottom :(
  21. Is there a tool that can automate chaining like that?
  22. what are you smoking, even recent DeekSeek R1 being 10x cheaper is a breakthrough improvement that would upend an industry in normal times.

You can do 10x more with AI now.

We are still in a huge growth cycle.

  23. No.

Fiat is backed by tax base. US has more assets than debt. Additionally US is the largest economy in the world, how much would the right to tax it be worth? A lot.

It's not at all just perception and influence as you claim.

  24. because the valley is burning money and GPUs training these and somebody else comes out with another model for a tiny fraction of cost it's an easy assumption to make it was trained on synthetic data
  25. isn't competition good for innovation?
  26. They are not just product ads, they are ads for NEW products.

So, the audience gets to stay on top of all the cutting edge products and services.

  27. We all heard the bad.

    Can't be all bad.

I wonder if there was a sector that had seen a big boost since brexit and not just due to less competition but due to genuine improved efficiency.

  28. Still too rose-tinted, I clearly remember the early internet being a minefield of viruses and malware and pop-ups and savvy teenagers hacking your favorite niche communuty forum cuz you were one security patch behind...
  29. Undoutably most catchy song in the whole movie.

    I think it's great.

Maybe, I am just our of the loop and people are overly biased by their own expectations and context to consider the song on its own?
