- Yes, increase the font weight or contrast. You don't need to go all the way to #000 but a darker shade for body text would improve legibility significantly.
- I am sorry I don't have the precise statement about relative rates of gun deaths and mass shootings in the US vs the rest of the OECD. Here's a data point to ponder, firearms are now the leading cause of death for children and adolescents in the US: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2201761
This is not true for any other OECD country.
- The rest of the civilized world doesn't seem to have a problem. Their stricter gun control laws seem to work just fine.
- Raw colors are not the whole story. Font weight matters too. Being just on this side of passing the check is also not great, just better than bad.
Ambient lighting and display quality matter a lot too.
- I use my left pinky to hold the base of the phone. Lots of people with bigger phones use one of those stick on things on the back and hold it with their index and middle finger.
- How long until Starlink allows luxury ocean liners come back? You can get a lot more space on a boat than a plane.

Are you talking about a political agenda? What kind of Netflix shows have any kind of political agenda?

- We had orals for graded programming assignments in graduate school. You had to present your solution to a panel and defend it. Some of my classmates really struggled with anxiety in front of the panel and took any question, however mild, as intense personal criticism.
Maybe this is a case for "learning styles", but it's probably logistically prohibitive to offer both options.
