  1. Remember reading something about humans themselves show the signs of domestication syndrome.
  2. You know nothing about this, so stop spreading your made up lies. A roadmap for Greenlandic independence is in place. The Greenlandic parliament is controlling the speed of this process.
  3. Its not a colony. Stop diminishing the agency of Greenlanders.
  4. If you calmed down and stopped snapping at everyone, you might understand that I'm writing about how the law and a lack of studies could make some people more willing to drive high. You are substantially diminishing the quality of the discussion here.
  5. An issue with having the legal limit at ~2-5ng/ml is that it makes habitual users be over the limit if they have smoked recently or not.[0] Making the prohibition seem unserious to some, not about safety but about punitive control, and in turn making it matter less if you smoke and drive as you are taking the risk of getting into trouble in any case.

The impairments of driving under the influence of alcohol have been extensively studied, but unless I have overlooked the literature it seems that the same investigations have not been carried out with THC.

[0] «Blood THC >2 ng/mL, and possibly even THC >5 ng/mL, does not necessarily represent recent use of cannabis in frequent cannabis users.»; https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S03768...

  6. Open Access is not a business model for the publishers. They have build different ways of sucking fees out of authors when shifting to Open Access. But its FUD to claim that it's an issue with Open Access. OA is a question of licensing and copyright, nothing more. Muddling the publishers business practices with the movement to ensure free and open access to research literature is destructive and ultimately supporting the publishers, whom has been working hard for decades to dilute the concept.
  7. You can get houses even cheaper now. The two things are not related though. Huge areas of Spain are barren empty places, with no jobs, transport, or anything. Nobody really can or want to live these places. Thats why the houses are so cheap.
  8. Just as classicists might not be the best painters, metaphysics should stay out of criticizing methodology. Ralph seems completely clueless of the research literature, and is basing his whole argument on vibes from looking at some pictures. Ridiculous.
  9. Its the same kind of people that claim Linux is too unstable for them, and when you ask when they tried it they say 15 years ago.
  10. Keep up. US is not an an ally to any European nation any more.
  11. Every single russian at the front has signed a contract. Some might be force and most of them are dumb, but they are still volunteers and they could all have said no.
  12. >even in places like South Korea

South Korea was a dictatorship just 35 something years ago. And its been run by criminals and oligarchs even as a democracy. SK is not an example you can use to say anything about democracy globally.

  13. >that Brave and Opera energy

Closed source adware and crypto scams?!

  14. Most definitely idiot wisdom. All the comments here lauding it, are pointing out first how they feel good about the text. That it resonates, that they like it. The importance of the content was that they felt good reading, not that they learned something.
  15. Oh no, we're not supposed to actually parse the words a CEO spew forth. Get out of here.
  16. The anglosphere is not the entire democratic world.
  17. All trees die at some point. Poplar trees are super popular as urban ornamental trees and they only last for 50 years. Upkeep is just the reality of landscaping.
  18. I always use 'last millennium'. Makes it feel even worse.
  19. Russian soldiers are volunteers. They sign a contract. When money are involved many many people don't care about inflicting harm to others.
