A very long term throwaway, I object to too much identifiable personal information entropy on one account.

  1. I'm convinced there must be a prescribed US essay structure that mandates describing what you're going to discuss in the essay - it has been poorly translated into the style for youtube videos.
  2. I don't think you really think that's what OP is saying.
  3. The same 'know what's best for em' attitude that was used by the US nationals funding IRA terrorism.
  4. I have not had a joke backfire that caused me to buy a company at several times its value. I have not fired people, cutting off their healthcare, during a recession. I have not made my family hate me. I have not lied repeatedly and without punishment in public. I have not been sued by the SEC, Twitter, and countless other parties.
  5. Is this in solidarity because you don't like him or because it reduces your faith in his other companies?
  6. It's remarkable that someone who's never run Twitter thinks he knows how to run Twitter better than the people who run Twitter.
  7. I spoke to a HFT software engineer who said how useful the limited market opening hours can be - memory leaks are a non-issue, just kill it at the end of the day.
  8. I thought this graph is just a visitor counter for the page?
  9. Sick, imprisoned, travelling. There are plenty of reasons why someone can be temporarily unable to use the internet.
  10. There is precedence - all EU laws are in all EU languages.
  11. I suspect it 'knows better than you'. Self-curation leads to a boring niche whereas ignoring what you want in favour of what you linger on - even if you're lingering out of rage - leads to more engagement.
  12. A live chart won't have much longevity if this is a temporary divergence. As much as I want it to be true, I think this post should be deleted until there are secondary sources. @dang
  13. >Oh also my back will not thank me when it's time to get the 20kg battery out and take it home to charge it.

For comparison, this is the weight of an empty barbell.

  14. I've drank C++'s kool aid. I believe in the vision and think of everything in C++ terms.

...I think I could last about 3 months in another language before I'd forgotten too much to go back.

  15. IME the nature of C++ attracts smug trivia experts more than typical softeng. Skilled, yes, but unhelpful.
  16. Could you describe some of the research?
  17. Rally is just going to be another example. As of this year, all the cars are econobox facades over space frames. No trickle-down innovation or 'win on Sunday sell on Monday'.
  18. If it didn't have a second meaning you wouldn't see this as divisive.
