A software programmer, web developer, and music artist making the world less frustrating and more enjoyable one day at a time.

  1. I did this once fore awhile, and it was worth it for the period of time. But at times, having extra cash (or the expected salary based on your lifestyle) can also go a long way!

In the end, it's about managing priorities (at the time) and stress. Working less that increase focus and avoid burn out by giving you freedom to do "other" personal things.

  2. Agree! dev.to for example is a nice place.

However, Medium is a like a book publisher for articles. It's a good way for simple and/or new articles to get an audience that wouldn't elsewise.

  3. That's really cool dude. Keep it up! Big ideas and concepts can come from this!
  4. Inoreader (two accounts attached together).

Currently also using NewsBlur for Stackoverflow tracking with fetchrss.com for FB and other custom feeds, however, I am moving those into my second Inoreader account.

For GitHub project tracking I use BazQux, and still do.

  5. Written book content is so dramatically different than online content.

The single fact that books have to be reviewed, edited, and published takes on a whole new world of quality and information.

Personally, I don't even bother with ebooks due to the lack of creditability in the quality of information and writing.

    So, yes they are.

  6. Don't want to be fired.

However, what would get me the most is the interaction/attitude between my team and boss.

Also, a terrible salary makes for a low tolerance.

From a programmatic point-of-view, inadequate framework, legacy code, and disagreeable methodologies.

  7. If you have to ask the question, you don't need it nor truly want it, so why bother?|

A Masters is good enough; you are above most people but not too deep into the trenches.

  8. Yes.

I hate Slack with a passion. I am on 14+ servers and it's completely impossible to manage, mostly because of memory.

Recently, I've decided to make a chat client (desktop) natively with C++ for Windows, Linux, and OSX that has a smooth layout like the original AIM (very easy to use). Including, with future plans to do audio/video chats and screen sharing including file sharing.

I just hope that within time, I will be able to release something to the world.

  9. I agree and disagree with a lot of points.

Most importantly, writing programs on whiteboards. I hate this, but it's an insightful way to measure the individuals thinking processing, decision-making skills, and communications skills.

Expect them to fail and see how they handle the situation and themselves.

  10. I agree with this; it's very important.

However, it does get tricky when your other hobbies also require you be on the computer as your job does (e.g., cryptocurrency trading, programming side projects, or editing images, making/editing videos, video games, etc.).

So, recently I've taken up gardening (got a nice piece of land) and brewing beer.

Also, going to the gym every other day or go out running. The exercise helps keep your mind and body at bay.

  11. No. I put my complete +(country) and then the rest of my usual number and got a text. However, the text that I received was from a US number.
  12. So you mean "Is it ethical for me to tell my employer I've automated my job?"
  13. 40-50 hours a week is NOT a healthy work/life balance. Nice try buddy.
  14. This is a beautiful post! I'm loving what I am reading and the suggestions seem quite insightful :]

I am not sure if any of the following books were recommendation already:

    - Carl B. Boyer - A History of Mathematics - William Dunham - Journey Through Genius - Philip J. Davi & Reuben Hersh - The Mathematical Experience - Martin Aigner & Günter M. Ziegler - Proofs from the Book - Imre Lakatos - Proofs and Refutations - Robert M. Young - Excursions in Calculus: An Interplay of the Continuous and the Discrete - Courant & Robbins - What is Mathematics? - George Pólya - How to Solve It - Morris Kline - Kline’s Mathematics: The Loss of Certainty

More or less a general deep understanding of Mathematics but will definitely give you a boost in a direction that you will favor.

  15. It would had been a nice test to leave a blog post on your site regarding the position to see how many people actually take out the time to overview your company before / while applying :-p

    Either way! Coolies.
