- Unfortunately ad technology and creative companies are not using the VPAID standard properly. Essentially VPAID is simply a JS file. One really bad VPAID I seen is generated through Adobe Animate CC and meshed with a bunch of custom code with jQuery in it. The image assets are all oversized because Samsung Galaxy S6 edge supports 2560 x 1440 and it wasn't resized to fit desktop proportions. The VPAID standard doesn't constrain the designer in terms of payload and how many connections to send.
- That will be incredibly shortsighted though. Developers are looking for more powerful machines all the time.

- I think eru meant that a majority of Singaporeans are feeling the pinch and sentiments towards foreigners are at an all time low. Mainly due to loss to jobs and housing opportunities to foreigners. Our government however maintained that foreigners are essential to growth and had there been a voting process in this decision there will be ugly results.
However I will not go as to say Singapore is less democratic due to this point.
- MVC is being used for web development. The M part, model, handles the rules for inputs. This would trigger validation errors. In a typical stack, we code the server-side model in, say, Ruby on Rails, and duplicate the same model in client-side model in JavaScript so it can detect things like minimum password lengths without sending data back to the server. The holy grail is to have both server-side and client-side in JavaScript and also sharing the models as well, with that we reduce amount of things we have to code.
- Doubt that a majority of startups are using GoDaddy. GoDaddy made themselves well-known and bought Super Bowl ads. That's the first company many people think of at one point of time when they think of domain names.

- It can be the new LAMP but not yet. In my opinion, LAMP became common due to its deployment. There's virtually nothing to do asides placing the PHP files in the directory that is exposed by Apache. Applications such as WordPress depended on the LAMP stack's ease of deployment and applications like WordPress makes people want to learn PHP.

- This reminds me, I stay in Singapore and there's this policy in all libraries (we only have state libraries) that you have to read something when in the library to sit at a table. I've been chased out for doing work there for that reason.
- Try doing something to the line-height CSS attribute. It probably needs a bit more spacing between the lines of text for easier reading.
- There is a case where we think news that interest us is more important than anything else. That's why we are on HN, isn't it?

- I agree that Lorem ipsum shouldn't be used as a replacement for instructions but it does have its place in prototyping.
Lorem ipsum is tremendously useful as placeholders for content types such of sample blog posts, sample description etc. These content are irrelevant to the web developer.
