  1. I use the same setup myself, download WisprFlow for IOS and over time just add to its dictionary the unusual words you often use during development

works perfectly, i just say what i want coded, press enter, and Claude Code just does it in my server over Termius app

  2. i figure out the niche ffmpeg commands various chain filters, etc then expose them from my python cli tool with words similar to what this gentleman above has done.

If one has fewer such commands its as simple as just bash aliases and just adding it to ~/.bashrc

    alias convertmkvtomp4='ffmpeg command'

then just run it anytime with just that alias phrase i use ffmpeg a lot so i have my own dedicated cli snippet tool for me, to quickly build out complex pipeline in easier language

the best part is i have --dry-run then exposes the flow + explicit commands being used at each step, if i need details on whats happening and verbose output at each step

  3. Built out this service you can just copy three bash/python files and the .claude/settings.json to your different repos and just plug them to turn on in background by just one command, and then ask Claude Code to do something, close your terminal on phone and roam about grab coffee, chit chat, come back once it notifies for input or anything

Im using it with WisprFlow on my phone, to do marketing tasks on side, while coding or just do marketing tasks and research on my way to work in my cab stuck in peak traffic, and then once im at office i can just focus on coding.

  4. The biggest joke is most of the proprietary routers both consumer and enterprise grade often are running some old outdated version of custom tuned openwrt lol, this goes for tp-link, and everyone else almost.
  5. Same we use cloudflare as image cdn and its R2 service a lot, cant access anything over its cdn route
  6. > I'd say the same about AI.

And you’d be right, so society should let people use AI while warning them about all the risks related to it, without banning it or hiding it behind 10,000 lawsuits and making it disappear by coercion.

  7. Experience working with doctors a few times, and then we’ll see all the bias if one is still surviving lol. Doctors are some of the most corrupt professions who are more focused on selling drugs they get paid commission for to promote, or they obsess over tons and tons of expensive medical tests, that they themselves often know is not needed, except they ask for it, simply out of fear of courts suing them for negligence in future or because again , THEY GET A COMMISSION from the testing agencies for sending them clients.

And even with all of that info, they often come out with the wrong conclusions at times. Doctors do a critically important role in our society and during covid they risked their lives for us, more than anyone else, i do not want to insult or bring down the amount of hard work doctors do for their society.

But worshipping them as holier than thou gods is bullshit, that almost anyone who has spent some time with going back and forth with various doctors over the course of years will come to the conclusion of.

Having an AI assistant doesnt hurt, in terms of medical hints, we need to make having Personal Responsibility popular again, in society’s obsession for making every thing “idiot proof” or “baby proof” we keep losing all sorts of useful and interesting solutions because our politicians have a strong itch to regulate anything and everything they can get their hands on, to leave a mark on society.

  8. i doubt it would help, their stock will probably go down as glp lose their patents globally in most countries and become generics
  9. perplexity is doing something similar, it tried to force install perplexity comet mac edition, into my ipad… and then failed and exited…

they are quite aggressive at making people install this

  10. I know it’s controversial i know sometimes it’s inaccurate i honestly don’t care anymore i just don’t want the outrage inducing news content / videos / etc.

News is no longer the same everything is structured to maximize clicks , reactions, etc. Most news is misinformation or ideologically slanted anyways i just ask it to curate from feeds im interested in now, ive shifted to it only a few weeks ago, honestly its not as bad as people here are commenting it out to be.

i get it sounds dystopian but so does what i used to do previously. I dont need to know everything about everything, business & tech news i still read and watch myself as it tends to be fairly pleasant and inviting.

For me this is how the cons compare:

    - Occasional inaccuracy from AI summaries < constant psychological damage from outrage algorithms

    - Missing some nuance < being manipulated into anger and anxiety daily

    - Imperfect information filtering > perfect exposure to toxic information delivery

I didn’t want to make this change i had to for my mental health sorry. Chatgpt can hallucinate a ton , claude is way more accurate and fair , i experiment with both.

  11. Same here, Youtube and Social Media algorithms driven by outrage to boost statistics, has made it unbearable for me to watch news or read it online, everything is framed and created with maximum outrage in mind.

I added a DNS level blocker on all news app and restricted youtube itself to stop myself from watching news no matter what, and I only use chatgpt advanced voice mode now and sometimes perplexity pro to get my news for the day, and ask questions, around news, I stopped reading everything news related outside of purely business and tech related articles curated and sent to me via either my rss feeds, or via newsletter, nothing else.

It feels amazing to get briefed on the days news by ChatGPT, i intuitively ask it stuff around what my interests are and nothing else.

  12. One day they'll have secrets... one day they'll have dreams.
  13. BS, at 1mg amt, the only people who even get a single side-effect are typically morbidly obese folks who have a whole range of fertility issues anyways.

Calling it chemical castration is plain wrong

  14. Finasteride every year changes millions of lives globally, I take finasteride, and it’s the sole reason i have my hair.

Idk about you, but i know 10s of different friends who also went through hairloss and were struggling to stop it, who went through severe depression, loss of confidence, suicidal tendencies in extreme cases.

Just because you saw a study that X drug causes side effects/harms in 1-0.1% of patients, doesnt mean the med should be taken off sale especially for a drug as important as finasteride.

It’s easy for someone to say it’s just a cosmetic drug until they go through the full extent of social, mental, and even physical damage, hairloss at a young age causes.

I and almost everyone who takes finasteride take it knowing the risk of a whole range of side effects , often far more severe then just increasing risk of depression. like risk of reduction in fertility, libido in some patients often struggling with obesity.

Obesity creates a whole range of problems too, should we start prosecuting creators of tasty food too ? , fin 1mg is one of the most impactful drugs sold globally both under brand names and generic cheap drugs (i take a generic one) that is life changing for almost a quarter or more of men depending on the country who face male pattern baldness and its related issues.

More studies certainly should be done in link of depression and suicide in some patient cases, but bringing out the pitchfork like luddites and asking to prosecute executives and scientists for a non-opiod, non-addictive, drug that’s been used safely for decades across generations, and saved families thousands of dollars (including mine) in snake oil salesman products that claim to treat hairloss but dont. They should get awards, not pitchforks.

  15. The desire to become superbeing entity cannot be separated from supremacist ideals
  16. you think they care about that ? they’d still crawl like this just in case which is why they don’t rate limit atm
  17. not really, claude is amazing, which is why I pay for Claude Max, its insanely amazing and useful, its just OpenAI's one isnt
  18. for now, i wouldnt rank any model from openai in coding benchmarks, despite all the false messaging they are giving, almost every single model openai has launched even the high end o3 expensive models are absolutely monumentally horrible at coding tasks. So this is expected.

If its decent in other tasks, which i do find openai often being better than others at, then i think its a win, especially a win for the open source community that even AI labs that pionered the hype of Gen AI who didnt want to ever launch open models are now being forced to launch them. That is definitely a win, and not something that was certain before.

  19. you're right, about their intentions in the future. But right now, they are literally losing money every single time someone uses their product...

In most cases, atleast claude does for sure. So yea, for now, they're losing money anyways

  20. Nope it’s not just power that builds decent stabilizing systems but how people/their culture use that power. India’s unusual supreme court stabilises it from executive overreach or other risks because its court judges control their own elections and are far more liberal than indian society or its politicians so it tends to use its extra powers to stabilize rather than compromise the system.

I do agree what you said shows the risk of such systems and powerful courts if created in a vacuum without considering who’ll control it.

Pakistan uses those powers to do the exact opposite of what indian courts would ever do. Also it’s also because in pakistan military is an independent political actor that serves its own interest unlike in India where military is toothless and just operates on politicians diktats often literally at times instead of following intent.

Indian courts also cannot execute on its laws or fund its own budgets or laws. So even if it creates laws it only does ones it knows that parliament wouldn’t resist too heavily and will actually enforce it for them to avoid a constitutional crisis . Indian courts are deeply afraid of ruling parties especially if they have more authoritative leanings or are more organised.

In pakistan the military helps courts finance and execute on stuff superseding the parliament which is why it’s a corrupting force. In India , parliament under union home minister strongly controls over internal security matters and the police forces with prime minister and his cabinet controlling the military.

it’s not because of british court system, british never had such courts nor is it even a republic the british system is more similar to a constitutional monarchy with a powerful parliament.

India is a republic UK is a democratic constitutional monarchy hence it’s called a kingdom Pakistan is just run by the military most of the time and by elected leaders some of the time. so it’s a system that oscillates between dictatorship and majoritarian democracy (not a republic)

but yea supreme court cannot depose prime ministers in india. india set its own checks and balances out of pure fear of the consequences of what happened in pakistan. it still doesn’t fully trust its military to this day. out of fear of pakistan’s case and intentionally keeps regional ethnic regiments to avoid the military from ever unifying or working together.

  21. I know for a fact they don’t hate pornography, i’ve been around their culture. They banned it because the judges felt like it.

There were no major protests to ban it, no government ongoing policy, nothing. It was just done because the court felt like it.

People were indifferent after that too, gov didn’t even comment, praise or shun the court. Life just went on and people just used vpns, gov doesn’t even care and doesn’t even enforce the ban outside of the 100 major urls and domain the supreme court itself decided and never revisited it.

India’s supreme court is extremely unusual compared to other countries, it’s as powerful as the executive branch if not more, the legislative branch have no say in electing supreme court judges the previous judges elect the next ones.

it just uses its power very sparingly out of fear that the legislative branch might come after their powers if they use them too much.

banning a few major porn sites, banning electoral bonds (india’s version of superpac), creating new right to privacy laws without consulting the parliament (because the court feared gov isn’t taking digital privacy seriously enough), legalise lgbt rights without any parliament input as it felt it needed to protect those citizens freedoms and rights to self identify and form their own families with legal protection.

are some places where the court has used its ultimate powers

I personally like India’s supreme courts, they are partially the reason why india is relatively stable compared to other south asian nations. Overall they use their super powers extremely responsibly and sparingly. Accounting for both political environment and balancing it against the long term interest of the nation’s citizens

  22. India’s ban wasn’t legislative, it was done by the supreme court.

It has one of the most weirdest and also defacto the most powerful supreme court globally by authority.

It can pursue its own laws, legislate them, overturn even laws passed by supermajority in parliament if it doesn’t agree with it and thinks it’s not what original constitution makers would’ve wanted.

The Court can take up cases on its own (suo motu) without any petition being filed. This allows it to respond to media reports, letters, or social issues — an almost unheard-of power in most democracies.

I don’t think indian society or gov should be blamed for banning adult content, supreme court by itself passed the law and gov didn’t wanna contest it as they didn’t feel the point to spend political capital to reverse it.

India is the origin of kamasutra texts after all and isn’t that sex negative as you might think ( it has the highest population for a reason)

  23. > what I'm talking about are recent reforms that Xi is taking to accelerate that redistribution such as and introducing salary caps, increasing taxes, and creating more social security programs the rich have to pay into. So China is right now building their strong wealth redistribution network.

and its gdp growth, prosperity, and investment rate going down at an exactly same rate…

  24. No, still doesn’t change what’s true and is reality.

its unfortunate left wing bias in mainstream media has atrophied the ability for any reliable news media to exist with extensive coverage and neutral reporting. (not unique to the left, right wing actors can do just the same it’s just right now left leaning political actors control most of legacy mainstream media)

Foreign actors are definitely taking advantage of that to fuel tensions as much as they can. Doesnt change reality tho.

That UK has a severe free speech issue and two tier policing, one for native brits(the lower tier) and one for politicians and favoured religious vote banks.

  25. you’re courses you speak of.

you’ll need it for consoling if most people dont wake up and realise that the masses are slowly losing all of their freedoms from both the extreme left and extreme right in democracies globally.

Democratic backsliding is a fact that’s happening in all major countries. No media literacy course will save us all from it, if we don’t call out these issues and make it unpopular to do these things by governments.

  26. This is extremely interesting, thanks a lot for showing it to me. Wow
  27. Sure, I hope those texts act as warm blanket to console you as western society loses its hard earned freedoms from the rise of extreme left and extreme right.

You’ll need them, much more than I will To realise where things went wrong.

  28. So you think everything and everyone across the world is making a politically coordinated event to lie about reality ?

I don’t even vote for the republicans and since when has couches been equated to real things reported widely by media, politicians, citizens, watchdog groups become completely irrelevant because a politician you hate/dislike agreed with those things.

This is not a football match or he said she said, it’s happening and if you have to resort to calling a sitting vice president as “couch**” to deny reality instead of being able to clearly state no one innocent is being jailed for simple disagreements on facebook. then no you probably subconsciously know it’s happening too and need to depend on slander to deny reality.

it is especially ironic considering there are uk citizens getting police visits for saying things far less rude than what you said about US vice president.

You can disagree with ones politics but if you want to defend your ability to have that freedom (to disagree with ruling parties) it does require you to defend the freedoms and rights of people you disagree with politically too…

  29. > Detectives were last night accused of acting like East Germany's feared Stasi secret police for quizzing Helen Jones over her calls for the resignation of local councillors embroiled in the WhatsApp scandal exposed by The Mail on Sunday.

The article says clearly “last night”, what you think happened doesn’t change what was said by the woman who explicitly stated what happened to her and had to live through it that night.

(on rechecking yes i’m wrong about daytime vs nighttime indeed they visited at morning)

but even with that you think its acceptable if it’s daytime for police to knock on doors due to facebook posts about not liking current ruling councillor stuck in a scandal ???

if this gets politically acceptable get ready for china like atmosphere in future around politics (without china like infrastructure or growth) forced disappearances , thoughtcrimes & thought police…
