  1. Is that machine also going to be segmented on a private VLAN?
  2. Or this behavior is just programmed, the old fashioned way.
  3. Do we really need all the mobile phones and IoT devices of the world to be publicly addressable? Is that even a good thing?
  4. Hacker News was borderline insufferable during the 2022/23 NFT craze when all the startups, investments, and headlines were going into whatever new disruption NFTs/blockchain were allegedly going to cause.

At least with AI I do get some value out of asking Gemini questions. But I hardly need or want my web browser to be a chatbot interface.

  5. I have a site with a complete and accurate sitemap.xml describing when its ~6k pages are last updated (on average, maybe weekly or monthly). What do the bots do? They scrape every page continuously 24/7, because of course they do. The amount of waste going into this AI craze is just obscene. It's not even good content.
  6. Or just 'mv ~ /dev/null'
  7. Chugging away at building out https://tickerfeed.net

    - Added creating blog posts

    - Improved moderation tools

    - Rewrote an upstream client to move off deprecated API

    - Lots of improvements around CSS/ui (many thanks to Gemini)

    - Fixing lots of bugs

  8. I have noticed the same thing. And the blogs are still there, I checked, and marginalia returns them as top results when I search the relevant keywords. Google just really doesn't care.
  9. Source: the guy the company was named after
  10. If anything my experience has been the opposite of this. LLM detection is guesswork for an LLM.
  11. Leaks were saying it's a Friend competitor https://friend.com

Just a chatbot in a box.

  12. Surely the move now would be to rename the app to Netlfix Max
  13. Yeah this one seems like such low hanging fruit and would be a great convenience.
  14. > Testing GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and DeepSeek with $100K each over 8 months of backtested trading

So the results are meaningless - these LLMs have the advantage of foresight over historical data.

  15. I also like about Go that you can immediately see where the potential problem areas are in a page of code. Sure it's more verbose but I prefer the language that makes things obvious.
