¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  1. This was also bad, and was criticized by Dem members of Congress along with the mainstream media, and led to the IRS Commissioner's resignation. Hopefully Bondi will too.
  2. At least for Twitch that means they can't give money to streamers making a small country's GDP a month.
  3. And Jonathan Swift was actually advocating eating children.
  4. "Comrade" didn't begin with the USSR.
  5. A small percentage might even be actual humans!
  6. Highlighted perfectly in The Sopranos when they try to extort a Starbucks, it's a different world.

  7. Relying on the sanity and/or consistency of government policy would keep me up at night.
  8. ELF bombed buildings, they didn't set wildfires.
  9. > You will be depressed after your beloved pet dies.

  12. "what is grief if not love persevering"
  13. What an excellent video essay, thanks for sharing. On the second watch, after removing the expectation of an alternative history, Civil War hit me really hard that a future civil war would be absurd and horrific.
  14. The argument with Stringrays is that even with a warrant to target an individual the police end up sucking up a large amount of random people's location and cell phone data.

Like license plate readers and facial recognition, you're out in the world without the expectation of privacy but I think for most people that feels different when a giant automated system is sucking everything up without recourse.

  15. What a use of electricity. I just go out to my power meter with a pencil and pad and note the number.
  16. Retire the question, so it can be asked again and answered by an LLM, which based its answer on a human answering a now retired question.
  17. My country (USA) gave them $10B+ in military aid
