- A multiplayer card game thats inspired from UNO and exploding kittens. WebGL at moment but will be on mobile soon. http://simpleyuji.itch.io/fishbait
- Carnivo/keto diet (low carb in general) should actually help a lot in losing weight. What do you think is the reason why you can't do them consistently? If making them tasty is the issue, perhaps get a personal chef?
I would also strongly recommend doing a sport that you enjoy whether it be basketball, volleyball, boxing, muay thai, etc. If you enjoy the sport and want to excel on it, you will need to be fit, and it'll give you extra motivation to lose weight if it'll help you become better at something you love doing.
- Can you give a specific example of how you would start with a customer? Do you make a post in fb/twitter/linkedin like "I have some freetime as programmer, anyone have pain points or annoyances in your work that I might be able to help?" . Or do you come up with an idea (i.e i wanna build AI chatbots for real estate professionals) and start cold emailing agents that you dont know about and ask if they would find it useful?

A Talking Avatar AI generator similar to d-id. Worked on it for 2 months but I have problems adding natural head movement to the speaker. About 100 users so far but 0 revenue. Very low traffic (like 10-20 users/day). Not sure where to go next, at moment trying to focus more on marketing and getting feedback

I'm a pragmatic programmer with 10+ yrs experience. Worked extensively with React Native past couple years, and I also have built real time multiplayer games using Node.js, Javascript, and Unity. My recent projects the last couple months are related to AI which include: GPTForge (AI tools directory), Polymorf.me (Video game AI Avatars using Stable Diffusion and Dreambooth), ComicAI (React Native text-to-comic art generator)

- If its using GPT-4, wouldn't this incur a very expensive bill? Especially given that the search is free? That aside, I tried using it on "how to stop mysql service in mac", and it gave me really good answers detailing different alternatives depending on what i used to install mysql. It's a lot better than what i could find on google search. So this is really awesome :)
- I was prototyping a similar project before as well but ended up abandoning it because the the resulting cover letter just seemed too generic, non-authentic and business sounding. Plus, it would make stuff up sometimes (i.e saying I know X tech stack just to match the job description even though I dont)

I'm available for part-time or full-time contract work. 8+ years experience. I started my career with Ruby on Rails dev work, but has been doing a lot more Node.js the past couple of years. I've built and published native mobile apps (Swift/Java) and also have made multiplayer games both in browser and mobile (Unity). I can easily dive into large codebases and I have pragmatic approach to programming, often choosing simpler solutions, and avoiding technical debt. Looking to work with teams or founders where I can be of value.

More about me: I've built native mobile apps from scratch and published them to app stores with 30k+ users. I've also written online multiplayer games (Node.js/websockets) with thousands of daily active users. I tend to be able to dive into codebases and new frameworks pretty quickly and in a matter of days. Examples of work I would love to do- Backend: Nodejs, Express, Ruby on Rails, MongoDB - Frontend: React, Webpack, Backbone.js - Devops: Kubernetes, Docker, Chef, AWS EC2/Lambda - Tech: VR, HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, Video Streaming - Platforms: Web, iOS (Swift), Android (Java)- Augmenting Test Infrastructure - You might lack resources/time to add tests, and are currently focusing on features. I can help implement integration tests for complex micro-services, or UI tests for your react/react-native codebase.
- React/React-Native work - I've worked on React.js projects before and also have native iOS/Android experience.
- Weird Problems/Offshoot tasks - Ones that no-one else would like to do or have trouble doing. Perhaps it involves migrating old legacy software and library dependencies makes it a pain to migrate.
- Crypto related work - I've done small projects involving ethereum, nano (raiblocks) such as web-wallets.
- Mentorship - I've mentored junior developers in the past, and have also helped friends who are new to coding.
- I've actually very interested in finding a solution to this problem as well. I think the issue is that regular users who are more likely to give honest reviews currently don't have an incentive to write one as there's nothing to gain, but potentially something to lose. If everyone is rewarded instead of just the ones who give positive reviews (i.e ones who receive free stuff, getting paid for etc,), then the ratio of fake/legit reviews might balance out. And we just need a better UI to show the most relevant + recent reviews for each star rating. For example, in https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DNTWTKH#customerReviews someone mentioned "All the reviews are non verified!! 5 starts with 100+ reviews...... something is fishy!!". It also shows that 54 people found it helpful. So think that's a neat feature.
I think blockchain might be a good use case for this. Cencorship resistant, decentralized review, not controlled by a single company, and anyone can contribute, and see the reviews (i.e via browser extension). And everyone is rewarded by currency when they provide a review. Just not sure how to prevent spam, and deal with people gaming the system. Perhaps a staking system could be introduced wherein a user would lose their stake if the review proved to be inauthentic (proving it comes with its own problems). Anyway, these are just some of things I've been pondering about before.
- I basically used two open source projects as learning resource . I recommend checking out https://github.com/huytd/agar.io-clone and https://github.com/ahung89/bomb-arena . Simply playing around with those code, tweaking them, and modding them, allowed me to go from knowing nothing about gamedev, to learning about how to create one.
- I learned and released my first gamedev project - a multiplayer arena fighter (http://kikiki.io) . Still have a couple hundred people playing per day, but no longer maintained.
These days, I'm learning React/React-Native to build a marketplace that connects photographers with people who want better dating photos.
- 1. Depending on your cellphone provider, you can get free roaming without extra charge (i.e. Rogers) . That way you can still use google products. If not, use Baidu. They have search, maps, translate.
4. For beijing, checkout Tsinghua x-lab. Last time, I just walked in. Talked to a founder randomly, and got introduced to interesting tech spots i should checkout, as well as getting pitched on his startup :) They also organize different events from time to time.
Checkout Garage Cafe (not sure if its still open)
Meetup.com has some tech meetups or checkout http://www.huodongxing.com/events?type=0&show=list&tag=%E5%8... which lists startup events in beijing
5. Try out their dating apps (tantan) or even tinder to meet people even just as friends.
Stay at hostels and make some new friends.
Go to internet cafe - they call it (网吧 ). You get see how different it is when it comes to chinese gaming (you need qq or wechat), although some games require a national ID to play. In this case, may be better to bring along local friend.
- Just noticed that quite a few browsers support WebAssembly already (http://caniuse.com/#search=webassembly) . I wonder whether compiling Unity game to WebAssembly is better (more stable) than Unity to ASM.js
A 2-4 player casual card game that's similar to Exploding Kittens. It'll be free-to-play on mobile and I've been focusing more on marketing these days (mostly running ads, creating short form content, and reaching out to influencers).
I'm using Unity for the front-end, and Node.js (just because I'm already familiar with it in terms of dev + liveops) for the gameservers.
