  1. Watching a modern LLM chat with this would be fun.
  2. Car crashes are a leading cause of death. We can save a lot of lives by getting drivers to follow the law.
  3. Getting ticketed for blowing through a red light isn't "authoritarianism"
  4. Can't wait to get out to these meetings and advocate for more speed cameras and red light cameras.
  5. It's probably to ensure people keep talking about "woke" which tends to be good for the right.
  6. That sounds like a stretch tbh
  7. Roads are very expensive. Those taxes are never high enough to pay for the roads.
  8. That's so unbelievably difficult it might as well be impossible. It's easier to teach cars to drive themselves than it is to build transit. Ridiculous I know.
  9. Braking dust is worse than tires, and EVs don't use brake pads nearly as much because they rely on regenerative braking.
  10. Probably not but, empirically, there are a lot of short tempered people who would.
  11. If the blame were solely on the user then we'd see similar rates of deaths from gun violence in the US vs. other countries. But we don't, because users are influenced by the UX
  12. Page Rank
  13. Did you miss the part about me being remote for 5 years?
  14. I've been remote for 5 years at faang. It's ridiculous they haven't fired me yet. The productivity hit from remote work is huge.

For self-contained coding exercises remote is fine. AI does all that now but I guess I still need to prompt it.

Getting myself impactful projects, winning turf wars, new collaboration with a cousin team? Forget it. Impossible from home.

  15. Thanks Michael Scott.
  16. I kind of hate being recorded. I get very concerned I'll say something incorrect and end up being overly cautious.
  17. If I'm reading correctly this "world cup" is just a rip off of that thread. Pretty lame of them not to cite it.
  18. All this and I still need to click on the cookie pop ups like they'll bring the cargo planes to the island.
  19. What data are cookies providing that browser fingerprinting can't?

From what I can tell, we have to click all these pop ups for no reason at all.

  20. They followed them to school and told the teachers that someone called the police for escort.

There's nothing illegal about this and nobody got in trouble but it still sucks.
