  1. Oh, how cool! Another barrier to a new browser gaining user base!
  2. Translation: he had donated to ban same-sex marriage in California[1]

  3. I had the same thought... well at least the first part of it. I deployed https://iocaine.madhouse-project.org/ and the bots have mostly stopped crawling my HTML. They crawl mostly an endless maze of garbage now instead.
  4. Yes, OLED65BX
  5. I think you underestimate how shameless the vendors can be. I imagine in a couple of years the TVs will refuse to function unless periodically connected to the Internet to get updated ads and an updated firmware so that you can't jailbreak them...
  6. Just did that yesterday because it disables updates. I had stopped updating and disconnected my TV from the Internet completely in 2021 in fear that an update will bring ads, and in hope that a jailbreak will come around eventually.
  7. I like this better than the Google Sans Flex that made the front page today.
  8. Hey, allowing your employees to have secure connection to websites shows up in red in some Excel spreadsheet. We can't have Excel spreadsheets showing red in fintech. /s
  9. > The European Commission says it doesn’t pay for ads on X anyway—a Commission policy that has stood for over two years.
  10. Well, it's a daringfireball article after all... Who else should he cite apart from Apple bootlickers?
  11. I think it's only fair to deadname X.
  12. Sorry, RAM is too expensive these days to run two instances of Chrome on the same system. Maybe the time has come for some VC-backed startup to start a rent-seeking business for streaming your development environment from the cloud?

I know there were attempts for this before but they were just banking on the fact that the average dev env is an absurd collection of hacked together tools that is both fragile and nigh impossible to set up for new devs. Now they have a financial angle as well /s

  13. Homebrew is three racoons in a trenchcoat pretending to be a packaging system. It is also a supply chain disaster waiting to happen.
  14. Can't wait for this to get OpenWrt support so I can buy it and the first thing I do to be to nuke the UBNT firmware.
  15. Guy, the person who bet his life on a part with questionable quality is a moron. People who choose an OS are not betting their life on their OS booting up. Do you not grasp the difference in stakes?
  16. I call bullshit. 3d-printing is just a manufacturing method. Basic woodworking is much cheaper and more accessible than 3d-printing, do you call it vibe-coding?
