- > That's definitely fast enough for vibe coding, if that's your thing, but it's not mine.
Why even…?
- Ruined by ligatures. Use them in your own private coding time, not when trying to communicate with others. It obfuscates rather than clarifies.
- Kinda seems like they’re relying a lot on all of the work Valve has done with Proton. Difficult to tell what Bazzite per se is bringing to the table.

Good fucking grief, what has HN become?
- The todsacerdoti rule continues to hold.
- The story that is being spun and maintained by news entertainment outlets like Wired is quite impressive.
Even more impressive is how effective it is to pull small sleight-of-hand moves, like referring to these processes as “immigrant-tracking”, as if the federal government is somehow at war with immigrants. One really has to admire the raw narrative-building chutzpah of these outlets.
- This post makes me want to start a site to collect the worst-ever takes shared on HN. Right now this would be at the top of the list. ;)
- > The fediverse is an island within an increasingly dystopian capitalist hellscape.
It’s telling that people like this who use “capitalism” as a pejorative never have any compelling alternative to offer beyond “let experts in the state micromanage everyone and everything”.
- But I was told that the EU was the good guys…
- The point of disagreement here seems to be about poverty itself. The author (and many in these comments) seem aghast at the very idea of poverty: how can this state be allowed to exist?!
The truth is that humanity’s default state is one of “poverty”. It should evoke no surprise or confusion whatsoever, and yet it does.
Poverty is an entirely valid and normal state for a person to be in. There isn’t a vast shadowy conspiracy trying to keep you down; you’re just at the default state of humanity.
Humans improving their situation, now THAT is surprising and interesting, and it’s the thing we should be focusing our curiosity on. If you’re poor, emulate those who aren’t. Maybe they’re onto something.
The alternative is to blame the vast shadowy conspiracy, “capitalism”, etc, and remain poor. That’s an entirely valid mode of being. Nobody owes you anything.
- Poe’s law strikes again.
- What is it with sci-fi authors being so uniquely insufferable now that they’re all opining publicly on every topic under the sun? It’s a fascinating phenomenon that I haven’t seen anyone investigate yet in depth. Would love to read an article about it.
True believers have created a largely arbitrary grouping called “white people”, assigning it the “oppressor” label.
If a favored group’s nation were flooded by “white people”, that would be seen as an emergent situation requiring remedy; the opposite is what we’re seeing play out in societies like Britain, and is Not a Problem. I’m committing an act of violence by even describing it in this way.
How or when a disfavored group is restored to neutral or favored status is undefined; one would presumably have to consult a head priest of the movement for an answer (and I wouldn’t expect any coherence or clarity).
