  1. There are certain mutations like MSH6 which pretty much guarantee that you are going to die of cancer unless you are extremely proactive.
  2. So many "broken windows" theory believers suddenly promoting broken windows.
  3. shouldn't the question be, how the f does a manufacturer mess up the packaging of BUTTER. something they have presumably been selling for decades?
  4. It really does seem like a small piece of tape inside the envelope would have solved the problem.
  5. I get a "the request was blocked" error.
  6. It's very confusing how a relativity works in a non-deterministic world. Brian Greene's illustration of how relativity "slices the loaf" in the Fabric of the Cosmos (https://youtu.be/8Y-JmocB84Y?t=1334) makes it very difficult for me to understand how things work if reality is indeed non-deterministic.

Unless reality is more like Everything Everywhere All At Once, i.e., the Everett many loafs model.

  7. Thank you for posting this. Honestly, my social media bubble exposed me to exactly 0.5% of the videos on this site.

While I still think Israel is making the same mistake we did after 9/11, these videos help me feel a little of the vitriol fueling the IDF's actions.

  8. Isn't it assumed that everything is deterministic apart from what is done by the somewhat magical, "free will"?
  9. Isn't that generally how customers work?
  10. but home charging is typically during hours where renewable output is at its lowest. would be amazing if/when all EVs are automatically grid-connected when not in motion. instead of expensive centralized energy storage in giant megapacks, we have low-cost (but stochastic) decentralized storage that is available when renewable generation is at its peak.
  11. the integration randomly stopped working for me recently. it now asks me to log into the enphase cloud or provide a token or something.
  12. The Moonman A2 is my current favorite pen. Though it's a knock-off, the out-of-box nib smoothness was better than that of the Vanishing Point that I ended up returning.

The fact that it's only $15 on AliExpress makes it a steal. No pun intended.

  13. I really enjoyed every article served up to me.
  14. I tried installing the app and got a "The change you wanted was rejected." error.
  15. This so perfectly describes the ADHD university experience. Of course, there are other courses that you could hyperfocus on for days.
  16. This is a really fantastic resource. It's basically the content of every ADHD book distilled into a handful of pdfs. They are a bit dense, but the content is golden.
  17. It is astounding how OPs generally decent point was completely derailed because he made the misstep of limiting the scope of his ire to oil. This is so common in online discussions that I wish there was a way to 'rewind' and restart a discussion after making a correction.
  18. So it's basically a Samsung.

  20. I feel like this is a good place for me to plug my Fancy Zones fork, which supports maximizing windows within zones. The latest alpha also supports full-screening videos within zone boundaries.

The Power Toys devs have an issue open regarding this feature, and we're figuring out next steps: https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/279

  21. My Twitter feed has the occasional ad. Fairly unobtrusive, but they are indeed there.
  22. Just pushed a commit that adds a flag to the Settings page, allowing you to toggle the behavior on and off.

New v0.0.2 installer available at original link.

  23. After the GlazeWM [https://www.hackerneue.com/item?id=31043063] post, last month, I once again went down the Windows window manager rabbit hole, trying:

    - GlazeWM - https://github.com/lars-berger/GlazeWM

    - nog - https://github.com/TimUntersberger/nog

    - win3wm - https://github.com/McYoloSwagHam/win3wm

    - workspacer - https://github.com/workspacer/workspacer

    - amethystwindows - https://github.com/glsorre/amethystwindows

    - MaxTo (paid) - https://maxto.net/en

    - AquaSnap (paid) - https://www.nurgo-software.com/products/aquasnap

As a ratpoison [https://ratpoison.nongnu.org/] user, a decade ago, returning to the rigid window management of i3-based window managers, no longer appealed to me.

MaxTo provided much of the experience I was looking for, but random crashes when using multiple desktops and my inability to get custom recipes triggering correctly had me look elsewhere.

FancyZones offered much of the functionality I liked about MaxTo, BUT it did not support keeping maximized windows within a defined zone, so, I added this feature.

It's a bit rough around the edges, but works perfectly for my current workflows.

    Grab it here: https://github.com/peddamat/PowerToys/releases/tag/v0.58.0-m...

  24. If the current generation of ad technologies ever get completely blocked, alternate technologies will emerge for companies to recreate a dark version of ad networks, sharing web server logs, etc.
  25. I believe I remember a similar product on Shark Tank. From memory, I believe it was an unfortunate pitch. What differentiates this product?
  26. The fact that larger bands don't up sell a drone video of each show is just leaving cash on the table. I'd happily pay $30-$50 for a video recording of every show I attend.
