  1. > And that amounts to billions? You are a weird person...

An aircraft carrier alone is worth billions. Learn how to count, weirdo.

    > Just a quick reminder, this ain't the first NATO mission to the area.

Yeah I know, we brought terrific destruction, killed millions of innocents and maimed more in the surroundings.

  2. > The only message that this position would send is that wars of conquest are acceptable

If the only thing that makes a war bad in your eyes is the goal of conquest, than that seems rather hypocritical in my eyes. Whether land is taken or not, what really makes a country independent is who governs it. Who cares about land, it's just soil and it's not worth human lives.

At least the citizens of eastern UA had referenda to decide if they wanted to be with Russia. I don't think we granted Iraqis or Afghans the same privilege.

    > You’re basically describing the start of WWII.

This is such an absurd statement I won't waste my time debating it.

  3. So what? The CFO is Norwegian.

Since the CEO of Wikipedia is Egyptian born, would you define Wikipedia as Egyptian owned? Note that Egypt is a US backed dictatorship.

  4. I'm sorry to insist but there are groups here who abuse flagging as a censorship tool to suppress opinions they disagree with.

Anything that goes against the status quo has a high chance of being flagged, I've seen this happen over and over and especially recently.

  5. Do you think the CSIS has more incentive to inform you accurately, or according to their agenda, which is exclusively to protect Canadian's capital power?
  6. > Their agenda is “A safe, secure and prosperous Canada, through trusted intelligence and advice”.

That's their "agenda" for the public. The real agenda is to protect Canadian's capital and to prevent communism from ever taking place in Canada. As any other western secret service.

    > If they were caught lying, it would erode trust and disrupt their agenda.

Oh boy, I wish the world was such a nice place. The secret service MO when caught lying is to firmly deny it in spite of all evidence and keep doing what they do.

  7. The USA are still meddling in Haiti[0], so don't discount their role into Haiti's current situation.

    > The Dominican Republic is on the same damn island, also had a colonial history

Not just any colonial history: the USA invaded the Dominican Republic as well. Crazy how they can't refrain themselves from doing it over and over.

Now, comparing Haiti and Dominican Republic solely on the basis that both are on the same island and had a colonial history is too much of a simplification to mean anything, and to be fair verges on racist conclusions. Almost like you're implying that Haitians are inherently worse than Dominicans.

  8. You know what I mean. The USA, which the poster is defending. It doesn't really matter what his nationality is.
