Empty shell in waiting for transfer.

  1. I am shocked. Really? In the beginning of AI hype, as a product designer, I moved to my routine. Research. You don't need a PHD to find people smarter than you and experts to explain to you what 'stochastic parrots' means.

To understand how LLM's work and why the hallucination is inherent part of the tech with "AI". Maybe the core problem is implementation practices which remove critical thinking and testing? Maybe the core problem is 'fake it till you make it' ideology? I don't know. But I am sure about one thing. This as any other postmodern technology will bring more problems than solutions.

  2. Scam Altman is running out of "options". Serial failing is SV current business model.
  3. It is not a conspiracy anymore. Problem - Reaction - Solution. Start a war in the middle of Europe and Gaza. Tariffs. Recession - Panic - Digital ID, Social scoring, CDBC, Digital dollar, AI governance, tech feudalism. That's all folks. :)
  4. Where are the lawyers where you need them?
  5. Let's be clear. The industry plan for surveillance state is completely nuts. Expect toilets with AI analytical options over your feces and automatic report to your AI doctor. Transactional charges automatically included in your social scoring profile and carbon tax.
  6. Question: Do you believe that Google and Palantir will not develop tech and work for Chinese Government(market)? Or Apple? Or Oracle?
  7. Question from Eastern European: Which religion is prevalent in the USA? Masonic orders? Scientology? Atheism?

I noticed that there you have more masonic temples than churches in every city.

  8. We all are trapped by TOS into data mining operation. There is no denying this fact. You don't own your computer or smartphone. You don't own your data. Practically speaking, we don't have an accessible and user-friendly tool to protect ourselves.

The humanity collective data output is weaponized, and the surveillance state is transforming itself to an AI governance.

Publicly announced by the WEF. And embraced by the masses, which have nothing to hide.

Moreover, this thing is labeled as inevitable progress and the only option is transhumanism and post human ethos.

Add to this incoming digital dollar/euro plus social scoring systems, and we are cooked.

    So, welcome China apparatus. :)

  9. So they are missing a lot. And this is the core of the problem. Emotions are practical. They are a part of human experience. You cannot approach design process as a framework documentation or recipe. Moving with current trends of double diamonds or whatever tools are fashionable. You have to be a generalist first and tap not only to the tech stack or quantitive approach, but also into a psychology and culture.

    >Emotions are inseparable from how we humans think, choose, and act. In Emotional Design, cognitive scientist Don Norman shows how the principles of human psychology apply to the invention and design of new technologies and products.

  10. AI is not designing good? How? The tech bros hate artistic minded people.

They hate design because it is the engine of growth and change. Tech bros like sameness and libraries. They love "design patterns".

But change is inevitable and design is not in the colors, fonts, whitespace.

Design is human centered practice for solving not only functional tasks but emotional. And for this there is no Tailwind, React, AI solution, or design patterns template.

PS: I am a designer and frontend engineer with 20+ years practice with my own company and plethora of delivered solutions for my clients. The divide between engineers and designers is the most persistent thing that I have seen in my life.

    It is beyond my understanding.

  11. AI is a big lie. The planned reset is the truth. ML is good for surveillance state and killing people. There are other useful things, but they are not enough to drive the hype train.

The digital economy is driven by faith in the "best" tomorrow, not by rationality or critical thinking. Rationality is faked trough statistical interpretation. Bias is ignored for shareholders growth.

Progress is the new religion. A global Babylonian model of existence. In short: Dystopia.

The models behind the tech are antihumanistic. Transhumanistic. Posthumanistic.

  12. Lost me there: that a project will use a technology or programming language I don’t know.:) Good luck.
  13. Because USA gave more money, dear. Tons of it. The investment in Bandera's far right nationalist terror groups dates back to project Paperclip. Check your six.
  14. On a Mac I use PathFinder. https://cocoatech.io/:)
  15. For all that have circumstances which require using Win 11 I have advice. Buy a Win Explorer replacement. I tested this one and the experience is tenfold. Customization is immense, and you will not wait it to load at all. Directory Opus https://www.gpsoft.com.au/
  16. For this type of research the data sample is too small.
  17. Air is my favorite laptop of all time. Portable, durable, and now powerful enough to be a semi-workstation.

But why on earth Apple, your logos are filled with masonic and Babylonian symbology? Apple intelligence? Reversed Babalon? Mother of abominations? Really? Enough of this Thelema Crowley bullshit already. You are insulting my intelligence. We are reasonably educated people in Eastern Europe.

You don't have enough intellectual capital to generate more adequate geometry? And what is the message here? You are summoning the demons? :)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babalon

  18. Due to reaching the limit of growth of LLM's, the new trendy train is AI Agents. This will fail due to a lot of reasons. Sane people use tools wisely, and skepticism is not a Luddite label. I personally choose to avoid implementing a technology until it is proven reliable and safe. You can vibe code all you want. Just stay away from my repos.:)
  19. Apple makes a nice computer hardware. For running Linux.

iPhone is a trap. We see already in GB with removal of encryption. It is not the time for drooling over some UI animation. It is time to protect your data and learn to live in a surveillance state. All the people which are pretending to be a techie and use those types of devices called "smartphones" are plain stupid.

Every stroke on your Mac is collected. Just install Little Snitch and watch it real-time. Same with Windows. Simplewall app is showing it clearly.

This is not only a hostile computing and dark patterns' bonanza. They want AI governance over there in the headquarters of a global capital.

It is time to stop filling their baskets with cash. Use your old devices as long as possible. Do not update prematurelly. Educate yourselves. Protect your data.

Degoogled phone is a nice start for this UX.

  20. Yes. Thank you.:)
  21. Apple removed encryption for iCloud users in UK. I don't see the outrage on HN why?
  22. Yesterday I tested Windsurf. Looked the docs and examples. Completed the demo "course" on deeplearning.ai. Gave it the task to build a simple Hugo blog website with a theme link and requirements, it failed consecutive times. With all the available models.

AI art is an abomination. Half of the internet is already filled with AI written crap. Don't start with the video. Soon everyone will require validation to distinguish reality from hallucination (so World ID in place as problem-reaction-solution).

For me, the best use cases are LLM assisted search with limited reasoning. Vision models for digitization and limited code assistance, codebase doc generation and documentation.

Agents are just workflows with more privileges. So where is the revolution? I don't see it.

Where is added value? Making Junior Engineers obsolete? Or make them dumb copy-pasting bio machines?

Depressing a horde of intellectual workers and artists and giving a good excuse for layoffs.

The real value is and always will be in a specialized ML applications.

    LLM hype is getting boring.

  23. This thing is hilarious. :)

    Roast:

    - Your comments have more doom predictions than a Y2K convention in December 1999.

    - You've used 'stochastic parrot' so many times, actual parrots are filing for trademark infringement.

    - If tech dystopia were an Olympic sport, you'd be bringing home gold medals while explaining how the podium was designed by committee and the medal contains surveillance chips.

  24. It starts with the falsehood of the Turing test, continues with the idea of branding the errors "hallucination", moves ahead with "experts" working for their salaries, bonuses and shares and lends here. Benchmarking statistically a dataset, emulating progress and pushing us into an "Intelligent Age" while accelerating data collection, normalizing biometric surveillance, hiding incompetence and speculation, the real reason behind mass layoffs.

A pipe dream ideal for technocratic mafia (In 1932, Scott and fellow technocrat Walter Rautenstrauch formed the "Committee on Technocracy" at Columbia University) of Bilderburgs members, Peter Thiel, Eric Schmidt and their pupils like Musk and co. Now they have a carte blanche for AI governance and regulatory capture. Starlink, Starshield (Skynet), Stargate, Closed AI, Grok.

Married to the masters of the old system, they will deliver "efficiency" on a grand scale. Transhumanism is the "inevitable" future of destruction of human dignity, value and psyche.

And all of this trough psyops for a text calculator with stochastic parrot tendencies.

A calculator is a useful tool, but not intelligence in any form.

Machine learning is real, and the biggest danger is the tendency of a hyper class of billionaires to apply surveillance and governance automation.

Ask Larry Ellison about his dream of citizens with the best behaviour. Not so different from Chinas social scoring system.

  25. Nice. But please educate yourself on a difference between art and design. They have similarities in language, but have completely opposite function. Art is a personal expression with a given medium which translates directly the intent. Design has a focus on thinking about the function and perceptions of other people. Visualizing data is a design problem.
  26. So hackernews new kids will be happy with the corporate overtaking of America? Regulation? What the heck is this. The future is only bright and colourful. Is there an AI specialist here to explain to me why LLM's cannot code in Cobol? What AI is this?
  27. Brilliant. I need this thing for my computer. Kensington, are you seeing this? It is time to work on trackball wheel of Kensington Expert. We want haptic feedback with electric motor. One of my classic cars is a Mercedes CLK 200 Kompressor from 2000. The highest quality physical controls for this class. Joy to operate. We need this back.
