  1. I'm to believe this is done for my safety, which is apparently worth $45
  2. A Mr. Beast-like "crypto-philanthropy" company is giving out $2 million to poor people as a marketing stunt.
  3. What is it with you people and food analogies

    This one doesn't even fit

  4. You don't make a billion dollars thinking like that. Dude's playing a different game.
  5. I've done it on phone calls just with foley from YouTube.
  6. lesswrong is a cult
  7. Not exactly creating though, is it? More like an obfuscated GitHub downloader.

  9. if I eat too many hot dogs and pork chops and ramen I'll get sick of hot dogs and pork chops and ramen. We needed a study for this?
  10. > Am I crazy or did those WAAD guys themselves just link the public to potentially illegal content?

I mean, it's well known that governments possess and distribute more of the stuff than anyone else. Government or not, not a big surprise.

  11. I'm faced with $75 subscription bill after failed pursuit of reading this article. Similarly to Denmark, I'm not paying that shit.

  13. > We’d been building what we liked to call a “procrastination engine,” named Sloth Surf. The app worked like this: A user who had the urge to procrastinate on the internet could come to the site, input their procrastination preferences, and let an AI agent do it for them. Want to waste half an hour on social media? Read sports message boards for the afternoon? Let Sloth Surf take care of the scrolling for you, our pitch went, and then it can email you a summary—all while you get back to work (or don’t, we’re not your boss).

This guy's living a delusional, fantasy business boy lifestyle where he has hardworking fictional employees working tirelessly on his poop-on-a-stick idea, while literally calling him in his free time to tell him it's a great idea and a valid thing to put his time into. What are YOU doing?

  14. > everyone either became poor or all corporations went bankrupt.

These are the only two outcomes in real life, too

  15. Yes. WebGL and/or WASM.

    Good luck, you'll need it!

  16. 640k ought to be enough for anybody.
  17. Shitty software killed netbooks. That Intel Atom was more than enough to accomplish the moon landing, or produce an indie game like cave story, or run a recording studio to make music. But people didn't want to do those things, they wanted to play Roblox and watch YouTube.

Netbooks are work machines, and as usual, people don't wanna work.

  18. it would have to be quite the harness.
  19. > smaller browser vendors

    Such as???

  20. Typical! The "ess-jay-doubleyous" strike FEAR into the hearts of the BILLIONAIRES behind the New York Times.
