  1. It'll trickle down any second now.
  2. I would build something ASAP and not get stuck in tutorial hell.
  3. If a bridge gets built then destroyed, built then destroyed, built then destroyed and so on, people will stop using it. They'll also stop trusting the bridge builder.
  4. There are glimmers of JR in Gaddis' earlier work The Recognitions, specifically during the party scenes where voices overlap. But of course because the rest of the book is written in a "usual manner", you can recognise who's saying what quite easily.
  5. Funny thing is you can use Linear Algebra to solve Sudoku puzzles.
  6. NATO invaded Ukraine?
  7. When Americans tell their ``allies'' that they're not spending enough on their military, what they mean is they're not buying enough American hardware.
  8. Oh, my mistake. That's quite cool. I'll most probably use your site over Goodreads.
  9. What do they think about Hindu numerals?
  10. I typed "Introduction to Real Analysis by Bartle" and I got:

    Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter, #1) by JK Rowling

    Topology by James R Munkres

and so on.. Munkres' book is relevant and I want to read it, but what have Steve Jobs and Harry Potter got to do with with mathematics?

  11. >taxed

You'd still have these dodgy imports by people/gangs wanting to evade taxation.

  12. For me, it's the fact that I'm running code written by some random people. The code could be malicious. I don't know unless I audit it myself and I have no time for that. Remember the XZ Utils backdoor thing from a few months ago? Well how many backdoors are there in other FOSS stuff?
  13. Up for me.
  14. Netflix's original productions are kinda crap though. I miss the days when you could just search for almost anything and it'd be on Netflix.
  15. No love for NetBSD?
  16. The Hatton Garden heist was fairly elaborate.
  17. They're buttering you up, so you stay on the site and look at adverts and/or buy premium subscriptions. None of that nonsense on Lichess, which is run on donations, not ads/subscriptions.
  18. Loads of top players play on lichess too, including Carlsen. Titled Tuesday is not a staple in the worldwide chess community. The world championships (classical, blitz and rapid) are.
  19. Chess.com's game review is rubbish. Make an account on Lichess and play there instead. Lichess has engine analysis too and it's completely free.
  20. Try the Open University.
  21. Privatisation has failed. Just look at the water companies.
  22. "Inspired by Thatcher" is not something I'd ever want to hear. Ding, dong, the witch is dead.
  23. Bad idea. We ought to keep a few around, even if inactive. Russian ships have been seen loitering around our offshore windfarms. If WW3 starts, you can be sure the Russians will destroy them just as they've been targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure. We would need backup energy sources, and that's where the coal plants would come in.
  24. Just because `liberals' don't share their views, doesn't mean they want to see them die.
  25. No way. As long as he brings views in, YouTube will boost him. They only care about ad money.
  26. >Ask anyone from French, Spain, Italy, Greece, etc. living in London and in tech if they believe their British peers are their equals intellectually.

Why are they in the UK then?

  27. Nah, Russians do this routinely. Scroll down to the last bit on here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2y515gzq7o
  28. >the U.K. and Ireland wouldn't take a lot of manpower or coercing.

You don't know us if you think that.

  29. What would you recommend as a supplement to Shilov's LA book?
