I also have one and love how easy it is to clean.

  2. I couldn't imagine it becoming a standard since DUIs are revenue generators for states.
  3. Anyone have recommendation for replacing Lastpass? I need support for Android, Linux, and Windows. I would like to be in control of my data if possible (sync to cloud) and a nice to have would be a browser extension for autocomplete.
  4. All these scented detergents and fabric softeners would cause my back to break out into pimples. I read a tip on reddit to switch to All Free Clear detergent which finally eliminated my problem. So good luck P&G as they will probably just add to the labels "naturally scented".
  5. Sounds like an interesting read, do you have link to the article?
  6. I also thought the form builder was going to output Postgres (or any database) SQL to create the tables, fields, and relationships.
  7. There was just a post on django.reddit.com asking how to display over 18k rows. Of course the developer knew this was not practical but business demanded it.

  8. ESPN has turned into TMZ for sports. I stop watching after they spent a week focusing on Brett Farve's sexting incident.
  9. Instead of tables, data is stored in a graph as node and edge. Both can have stored properties.

  10. I also bookmarked that article at mnx.io and think it is very straight forward naming schema.
  11. I recently purchased a used 2004 Honda S2000 with 33k miles on it. I went to the S2000 community/forums and they had a huge pre-buying checklist. After buying it (had 5 days to return it hassle free), I went to a Honda dealership for pre-purchase inspection and a body repair shop for inspecting off the record accidents (not on carfax). Finally, I wouldn't buy a car that didn't have a strong forum presence with DIY guides for repairs.

  13. I want a self-driving car for long distance drives like for a vacation and if I am too tired. However, I also enjoy driving a sports car with a manual transmission on back country roads.
  14. Any recommendations on learning them, e.g. tutorials?
  15. Possible water crisis in the future, and governments are selling water supplies for $2.25 per million litres! http://news.nationalpost.com/2015/03/06/outrage-boils-over-a...
  16. I recommend teaching them web app security (CRSF, SQL injection, etc).
  17. - Have you had an employer allow you to move and work remotely? Yes, we have remote employees from acquisitions but it was a challenge to convince my manager's manager that I could work remotely. I was surprised there was resistance in asking because my team is spread out globally so in theory we are all remote workers. When I did become remote, it was more like a trial/probation to see if it works out.

    - If so, when did you let them know? Months in advance? Weeks in advance? I started the process in Fall and told them I would be moving in Summer. My manager's manager dragged their feet on making a decision until I told my team I would be putting in my 2 weeks notice in Summer. My coworkers sent emails to their managers that it would be a huge loss for the team if I had to quit. I didn't plan on using this as leverage but it worked out.

    - How did you enjoy working remotely in a new location? I am a very social person, but I love working remotely as I get more done than in an office. The local office was an open office design so noise would force me to put headphones on. Now I can play music out loud and not be distracted by side conversations.

You need to define a space that is your office and have rules with your family, e.g. if the door is shut do not disturb me. You need set working hours too. I rarely have to sign in at night to assist with global team members.

    - How often did they need you to commute to the office and for how long was your visit? I usually visit the office twice a year or more if I am in town visiting old friends. Usually I visit when other team members are visiting the office.

  18. I recommend AeroFS for anyone that wants to sync computers over their local network in real time. In the past, I used Microsoft Live Mesh to sync files between my desktop and laptop but it was discontinued. Every other application I checked out required uploading data to the cloud first, e.g. dropbox would upload to cloud first then sync over LAN. Other applications, would only upload to cloud and then download from cloud which is a pain for large files and slow internet connections.
  19. They are still working out some bugs with the latest XPS 13 and Ubuntu. Check out http://bartongeorge.net/tag/project-sputnik/
