  1. The study you linked is for instant coffee, widely considered the least healthy form of coffee. There is no study showing filtered coffee has negative health effects for most people, actually the opposite: https://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/whats-the-hea...
  2. Roughly how much per day do these multi-week run end up costing?
  3. Why would they not define what adoption rate mean? And why is “Ramp AI adoption rates” 3-4x just “AI adoption rates”?
  4. Mosquito-heavy regions of northern Canada are actually warmer than Iceland in summer. Iceland averages 10-15°C (50-59°F) in July, but Canada’s boreal forest regions where mosquitoes thrive regularly see temperatures of 20-25°C (68-77°F) in the summer.
  5. So you’re telling me this clip isn’t even satire: https://youtube.com/shorts/64TNGvCoegE
  6. Meta keeps making more and more bafflingly horrible product decisions. Tens of billions into the Metaverse and now “let’s put gen AI into everything” even if it goes against the one thing that is arguably the most responsible for FB’s success - real identity. “Let’s put fake bots everywhere, because GenAI, need I say more?”
  7. One of the bullets had “deny” engraved in it.
  8. Most consultants with more than 3 years of experience are billed at $150/hr or more
  9. Ok true but that boat was much much heavier and bigger. So the ratio of mast height to weight/size on the Bayesian was extreme
  10. People have not been making vessels with 237ft masts for thousands of years. That boat literally had one of the tallest mast ever to exist on a boat. You combine the “extreme” nature of this boat with an extreme weather event and you get an extremely outlier outcome
  11. Right but what if you enjoy your job and don’t want to retire?
  12. GPT-4 is way more powerful than GPT-4o for programming tasks.
  13. No it’s not, it’s a multimodal transformer model.
  14. What’s a 2048 clone?
  15. Permafrost, and prob with geological evidence it's been similar or colder climate in that region in past 50k years.
  16. What’s FTS?
  17. Sounds like a data engineer job to me
  18. The downdraft could actually make the plane accelerate downwards faster than free fall (even just for a second or so), hence everything unattached hitting the ceiling
  19. Maybe it's getting into semantics but clarity of thought does not necessarily mean accurate understanding of reality (which is usually messy and complex), so moronic people could ironically have more "clarity of thought" than non-moronic people because they tend to have simple beliefs (these X people are good, but those Y people are bad).
  20. Meta has products that are used by billions of people every week and has been extremely profitable for over 15 years, with no sign of obvious downward trend. I don't see how it can be described as a bubble.
