  1. OK, so am I right that this guy had a completely unsecured metrics endpoint running on his server? Why would you do that in the first place?

    What if you need any kind of in-memory cache? Or in general, any kind of application maintaining state, for, say, performance reasons?

  10. Why Java can have reliable utility libraries such as Apache Commons and Google Guava, but JS somehow cannot?
  11. I don't get the part about the small commits. To me a commit could be massive and that's alright, provided it introduces some major feature, while a fix could a one-liner. It really depends on the situation.
  12. You're fighting a strawman. Noone is advocating pure cash here, just that the cash should remain an option.
  13. Good advice, except, do not work 10 hours like that person, aim for 8 hours.
