  1. presearch does. Anyone had experience with them?
  2. > They seem to not require an Internet connection for their cars

That would be the only reason to get that car now days! Can the car just drive without Internet. I want my car to be my not connected to cloud for all kinds crap.

  3. Ah the wonders of SPA! I know there are lighter ones, but it is not the first time hearing things like React being slow. Of course, when one start to do sntax highlighting on the client side....
  4. Shamelessly authentic might be what is causing the increasingly success now days.

Doubt that shamelessly corrupt will have the same effect.

  5. All for Post-postmodernism!!!
  6. Nice to know that, but are the data-centers Carrington Event proof? Always wondered that, but never worked in a data-center.
  7. It is better to NOT delete facebook, but spam your profile with other data and just leave it.
  8. A educated guess would be that the establishments intentionally want to have these monopolies around, so they stand down on the antitrust stuff, and in they would get total control and surveillance. That is how you get these guy like Peter Thiel going to Standford to recommend everyone to start a monopoly as their business model. In reality these guy (groups with low cost access to capital) have no clue how to really run a business they are just heavily subsidize by the establishment.
  9. Would it also be true for DNS over HTTPS right.
  10. They however can run their own app or desktop app that can to peer to peer communication. The whole point of self hosting is that we can have data and network sovereignty.
  11. Very nice!

Just FYI, one can also save RTF doc in cryptpad as html.

  12. Spun off to another subsidiary seems like the game here!

Not just CIA. Whenever military industrial complex or bankers want a make over, defers litigation risks or just conceal ownership, they just create a subsidiary, spun it off with another name and/or hide the everything behind client attorney privileges.

It also gives the public a memory wipe. Very clever technique indeed.

  13. >No, the vast majority of people use their phones as video viewers, increasingly so after the rise of TikTok. I have family members in their 30s who don't have laptops or TVs, all media is consumed through their phone, and for most kids/teens across the world it is their primary video consumption device.

That is one thing that is more disgusting about using a smart phone now days. When iPhone first came out it is about a music player and phone with extra features to facilitate real life things.

I don't want a freaking small computer in my pocket, and looking at small screens for long period of time is just NOT good for our eyes or postural.

We need to start treat these small devices as something we interact with very occasionally to facilitate real life interaction, not get our face stuck to it.

Not that working on laptop or workstation is much better, but it is better than writing on and viewing a video on small screen.

  14. Thank you for bring this (conduit) up!!! Nothing beats a binary and toml/json/yml file deployment!!!

And it is what great about the matrix.org vs other open source app such as Telegram/Signal/Wire.... The protocol was designed to be open. If you don't like the client, write one, if you don't like the server, write another. Just follow the API specification. Being it is REST it is much easier to decipher than IMAP/SMTP. And port 443 works every where! Even on proxied Internet!!

  15. To be fair on matrix.org they recommend that you host your own server. Main selling point of matrix.org is there is NO centralized server!!! That is whole point of using matrix instead of Telegram, Signal, Wire.

Element for smart phone, please make it very easy to change custom server instead of the default "matrix.org" ( Schildi Chat did a good job in their UI) I would recommend matrix client over Element TBH.

  16. >Also, if one can leverage multicast that's nice, but not only clouds have it disabled, and Aeron works fine with unicast to N.

How did that happened? Seems multicast is already built in, just use that for massive broadcast. Is TCP used just so we can get an ACK that it is received. Seems multicast and UDP shouldn't be a problem if we just want massive people to listen in on it, but if we want to also track these people then that is another story.

From a user perspective, use UDP/multicast all the way. Let the client to request something if it is dropped or missing or otherwise just multicast for everything.

  17. >> including physical activity, smoking, alcohol, diet, sleep duration, socioeconomic status, and polygenic risk And also light at night inhibits melatonin production. That along should already be able to lead to all kinds of healthy issues.
  18. Before shipping any web site/app, make sure it works in Apple Safari Mobile is usually the one that is dragging it is foot in Web Standards.
  19. Is there a reverse proxies that can support DTLS support out of box without some kind experimental patch[1]?
