  1. Claude Code in yolo mode with Docker Sandboxes https://docs.docker.com/ai/sandboxes/
  2. That still shouldn't be a part of post mortem, more of a performance review item.
  3. The "coin" part is usually detachable, so no need to leave the whole set of keys with the cart during shopping.
  4. The unexpected benefit which I've noticed when switching from a small, light car to a heavier, medium EV car is that the latter doesn't drive/feel any worse when fully loaded. Makes the trips that much more pleasant.
  5. I wrote a "CMS" in college as a project in PHP (really hot then) so you could drag txt files and images into whatever directories and it would create web pages based on that. Professors were not impressed: "why you would want such thing, a MS Access would be better". I was disappointed, but hey, that's life.
  6. Cloning a repo and running things from it are two very different things.
  7. Adobe. The only "free trial" subscription I actually had to pay to cancel. Despicable company.
  8. I use a popsocket on a naked iphone 14 pro and it's great in my experience. I don't think I've dropped it once after going worth this setup.
  9. And how much better would be if it had a physical connector so it's much more efficient. So you would have a bigger total charge and it wouldn't cook both batteries in the process. One can dream though.
  10. Terrible mobile-first or "web 2.0" redesign.
  11. No, in reality it's "buy a newer model of the same car" strategy. They don't really care about the current/old model.
  12. MIPS AB is actually a company, known for predatory patent lawsuits. They've used clever marketing to make MIPS the technology desireable and in my opinion totally unnecessary, or maybe even outright more dangerous for majority of bike riders.
  13. I was talking about the bicycle helmets though, I should have been clearer.
  14. I think the obvious problems is that majority of riders actually have hair and from my experience the chin strap isn’t very very tightly strapped (you want to speak normally I suppose).

Hair gives you considerable slip area making the inner rotational liners redundant or maybe even too much.

  15. You maybe stayed in that house in Rome but didn’t live in it. I grew up in a 100+ year old stone and mortar house with almost 1.5m thick walls and relatively good window insulation. The problem is the thermal capacity of those walls. When they heat up during a hot summer spell it’s like living in an oven. You cannot sleep most nights during the summer. Something similar happens in the winter too, if you go on a vacation. The house gets so cold you need couple of days to warm it up again. When my parents installed AC it was heaven during summer.
  16. If you're talking about Apple Intelligence that's also region locked and that's much more difficult to bypass. Device language has has nothing to do with it.
  17. I think it was mostly because of the UI, but I don't think anyone has any data on that so it probably was a timing and combination of things. The UI redesign really was a hot topic for weeks/months on slashdot but unfortunately they stuck to their guns and got what they've deserved.
  18. Disabling bluetooth usually helps there. But completely, not from the control center.
  19. Slashdot looked a lot like HN with high information density. It was fast and easy to read all the comments. Then a redesign happened because of web 2.0 or "mobile-first" hype and most of the comments got hidden/collapsed by default, sorted almost randomly etc. So a new user would come there and say "wtf this is a dead conversation" or would have to click too many times to get to the full conversation. So new user would leave, and so would the old ones because the page was so hard to use. It just lost users and that was that. All because of the redesign which they never wanted to revert. Sad really because I still think it had/has the best comment moderation by far.
