  1. $Work pays for GitHub, so the implicit solution offered is "take my money and make your service reliable"
  2. The providers for tofu are by design the same as for terraform.

Also, for large providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc - these are often largely authored by the hyperscaler themselves, for better or worse.

  3. I don't think the boring reality of most jury trials would make for an interesting screenplay.
  4. To every commenter offering incredulity or sarcasm at the apparent obviousness of this advice:

A great swath of us did not possess the social intelligence to arrive at this conclusion independently upon our arrival in the workforce. I didn't. I got lucky.

  5. In my experience, pretty much anything relating to spaceflight is gonna be lumped under ITAR and restricted from general disclosure.
  6. The question is, do we have enough capacity to mine and refine them at a reasonable price? They're there, in the dirt for the taking.
  7. I owned a Jeep 4XE, and I was glad the day we sold it, and I'm doubly glad today. The electronics and software were crap, and the powertrain was simply insufficient. At one point, they issued a notice that amounted to 'it might catch on fire, keep it away from your house.'
  8. Ok. thank you!
  9. Do you mean to say that two non-dependant tasks in an Airflow DAG aren't able to concurrently execute? Thats not my experience. I'm also confused by the use of 'static' in this context.
  10. Then you should look at https://atuin.sh/ although I am not certain about exit code.
  11. >You have two options: fail open and let the request through, or fail closed and block the request with a 429.

If the metaphor of a software circuit breaker is meant to emulate an electrical circuit breaker, then it seems to me that these two are inverted. Whenever a physical circuit breaker is open, it is not dangerous and not passing current.

  12. Which works fine.....until it doesn't. Many non-trivial builds require custom logic, and trying to do that in maven was painful the last time I tried it.
  13. Are you talking about Airflow Datasets and data-aware scheduling?

    https://airflow.apache.org/docs/apache-airflow/2.4.0/release...

Isn't that about as recently as Dagster?

  14. That response says more to me about the hiring organization, and not in a good light.
  15. Possible Snow Crash warning too, I guess?
  16. Good ole M-x butterfly
  17. "Do One Thing" is to me maybe best understood in the context of the Single Layer Of Abstraction Principal - it has helped me numerous times to be very intentional about following SLAP in complex code, and Do One Thing seems to fall very naturally out of it.
  18. Greg Smith wrote a book about postgres high performance that does go into the internals a bit and how to analyze performance problems. If you want to be a DBA, this will probably wind up needing to be in your back pocket at some point.
  19. 5120x1440p if it's the same monitor i have.
