  1. Yeah, we lost a lot of nerds with the higher status of Computer Science, or rather we got a lot of non nerds/geeks into the mix. Every year as the criteria went up at the University, I saw less of the type that had always been there.
  2. Let’s say that is correct, you can still just use Opus in Cursor or whatever.
  3. Regular sugar isn’t bad for you in and of itself, it’s just extra calories as you say. Consuming it in large quantities can be bad though, in the sense that you can become obese with all the health risks that involves.
  4. I just realized you can slightly tweak his comment to fit almost all articles on AI/LLMs/etc lately
  5. Ironically, this kind of mindset just makes the demographic freight train of population collapse even worse. The best thing you can do for society rn is to keep making babies, so that the population doesn’t collapse faster than we can handle
  6. SE Canada is like France, though. We’re talking Iceland here, which is way north compared
  7. This is a good case of the prisoners dilemma. If the groups of attackers don’t hit the same victims twice, it would increase their chances of getting paid for each attack. Whilst also everyone is tempted to re-hit a victim who has already proved their willingness to pay, but this decreases the willingness for each victim to pay because they have seen that it won’t actually protect against a new attack.
  8. My "problem" is that I struggle to find the motivation to program side-projects, when I already spend 8hours a day programming at work
  9. i mean in a western country the dude himself is at least worth at minimum a $100.000/yr salary
  10. How many users do you have on your platform? If there are many, how do you provide "customer services"?
  11. Serious question: Why aren't more from the police protesting as well, and supporting their citizens? I expect it is from fear of the government? What would they do to police unwilling to perform their duty? I wonder, because you have to assume some percentage of the police is in agreement with the protestors. Or maybe it is because right now, no matter what their opinion is, the need for order and police is greater than ever.
