  1. "Playing GTA VI on a RISC-V cluster" sent me
  2. that's probably thanks to how well Fortnite has done/is doing. Would likely be cagier on their old stuff if the company wasnt doing well
  3. hashicorp made him a billionaire, ghostty is really more of a pet project lol
  4. it's as low tech as using adblock - select element and block
  5. agents should agentically create high quality unit tests
  6. I already live and sleep next to my homelab, which is probably louder than those power plants
  7. I was going to ask, crunchyroll has competitors for legal anime stremaing?
  8. many companies are walking corpses - see GE
  9. >An increasing segment now has little access to desktop or laptop computing.

source? or are we just going off vibes here?

  10. I was one of the earliest developers to test Vision Pro after it was announced at Apple Park. My thoughts after using it for a whole day was that the hand gestures really did feel like magic, at the tradeoff of having a huge headset on your head. Costs aside, the Vision Pro is too bulky for use outside of your home.

I had the idea of wearables to solve this, as many years ago I had the Myo gesture control armband. They were very early with this product too, and from what I had read, most of that team got acquired/absorbed into Magic Leap

  11. one interpretation is that they're not interested in digital art

the other interpretation is that digital art has become contemporary art

    I like the latter

  12. reminds me of the obnoxious Ramp ad about how they only hire the best engineers with a very low hire rate

I wonder if they considered that they simply hired people who are just really good at interviewing, and not necessarily actually the best engineers?

  13. I'm sure they're also interested in the data. Imagine raising premiums based on conditions they detect from your wearables. That's why it's of utmost importance to secure biometrics data
  14. I disagree with how this is framed. shadow libraries thrive on decentralization, any other servers mirroring a collection is better than no mirrors at all
  15. My exact thoughts as well, this “offer” might as well be a cry for Google to take a controlling interest in Perplexity lol
  16. at any rate, I'm looking forward to decommissioned Oxide racks making it into my homelab for pennies on the dollar
  17. so we've reinvented GAN but with LLMs
  18. >our air-gapped deployment actually runs faster than our SaaS version. Turns out when you eliminate all network latency, things get snappy.

    Notion, take notes

  19. this read more like "Do Not Repaste Your MacBook". There's no way this was worth 5 degrees and 100 points in cinbench (sic)
  20. i am the perfect target demographic for these mini NASes as I live in a studio apartment, but instead I just bought a decommissioned Nutanix 2U rack server for my homelab. OP claims 120TB is more than he needs, and my data hoarding is headed the opposite direction
  21. ipad hardware is a full blown M chip. There's no real hardware limitation that stops the iPad from running macOS, but merging it cannibalizes each product line's sales
  22. it's not particularly novel - The Crew has been out since 2014 and we have 5 different Forza Horizons. I'm sure they just playtested that and moved over Mario Kart IP
  23. surprised this isn't a bigger story, seems like a really useful tool
  24. this is a bummer - scraping is one thing but this was free marketing for them. If only they put their marketing department in front of their legal department (assuming they have a marketing department)
  25. why stop there? let's get an is-true-ai that checks if a boolean is true using AI
  26. the state will do an investigation on itself and find no wrongdoing
  27. >And Sam Altman? He’s not stupid. But brilliance without wisdom is just charisma in a predator suit. Why do you think all these services tie directly into AI?

I don't think AI would come up with this line

  28. Naval has said most books could be essays and most essays could be tweets
  29. openAI chose to acquire windsurf for 3B instead of building something like Void, very curious decision. awesome project, will be closely following this
  30. you guys don't code in comic sans?
