- I had a scare combined with an insight last week. I was looking for documentation on power BI - specifically the M language. I found the Microsoft documentation but found it to be much more sparse than I hadremembered It only had the function names and the argument names and almost no explanation.
I thought "what a perfect way for Microsoft to force copilot upon us". They can make it necessary by being the only "documentation" of their software.
- The main "hefty bonus" was treating employees exceptionally well and providing a lifetime of employment. And for us kids, it was an idyllic environment in which to grow up.

Strongly typed software is a pain but it's benefits are starting to be recognized again. Unfortunately it's too late for XML.
- My father worked for Haloid for a bit. Worked there while also attending NYU. Layer he moved to Kodak and in 1967 our family moved to Rochester. My father retired from Kodak in 1985.
Xerox and Kodak were both amazing companies, and created a comfortable middle or upper middle class lifestyle for many thousands of Rochesterians.

It was that decision that resulted in the current mess. Browser vendors could have given us a grace period to fix HTML that didn't validate against the schema. Instead they said "there is no schema"
