  1. Hijacks the back button :/
  2. Yikes, that's a rough outlook. Not disagreeing with it, just poking at it a bit from a distance, and hoping that you experience a change in direction after a couple days.
  3. Exactly my thought upon seeing this :)
  4. it is likely an informal, stylistic choice, nbd honestly
  5. Yikes. Copy of TL;DR from the Reddit discussion:

Every single bit of data (that you wanted to back up using Active Backup for Microsoft 365) in your Microsoft 365 tenant, could have also been accessed by a malicious actor. The exact period for which this flaw existed for is unknown, but it was fixed by Synology after modzero disclosed it to them. Inspecting the setup process once, of any Synology Active Backup for Microsoft 365 install - gives you the master key to all M365 tenants that had authorised the Active Backup for Microsoft 365 enterprise app.

  6. Finally gave Claude a go after trying OpenAI a while and feeling pretty _meh_ about the coding ability... Wow, it's a whole other level or two ahead, at least for my daily flavor which is PowerShell. No way a double-digit amount of jobs aren't at stake. This stuff feels like it is really starting to take off. Incredible time to be in tech, but you gotta be clever and work hard every day to stay on the ride. Many folks got comfortable and/or lazy. AI may be a kick in the pants. It is for me anyway.
  7. He's never had alcohol due to a family with addiction problems, that's my understanding anyway. I kinda see your point though.
  8. Holy smokes that's a tough to view site for mobile folks.
  9. I know we're talking about AWS and Azure here, but had to add that fwiw, the M365 admin interface(s) are so bad it practically feels like a prank. In other words, it's as though someone is purposely making them as chaotic as possible to what end I can't even guess.
  10. Mind over matter. Don't forget to meditate, and try to keep the loop running in the background too.
  11. Very curious what that would represent, to a layman.
  12. Very fun, but also, it froze a couple times when I was doing well :(
  13. 2040's? It is happening, now.
  14. I had a similar experience last week. Searched and searched for a blurb from Middlemarch, without luck. o1 returned exactly what I was hoping for in one fell swoop.
  15. Those are some steeeep drops. I'm curious how they settled upon such numbers.
  16. I don't follow. Is he anti music or something? Afaik he's on Apple, Amazon, and Youtube as well. Do you not use anything related to him? I'm honestly curious for some reason.
  17. There are beautiful peaceful and kind neighborhoods in every state. I hope you are in one of them. Take a nice walk and have some tea or coffee at a local cafe. It's the local atmosphere and government that matter most.
  18. Interesting, I never considered that thought before.
  19. Agreed. It blows my mind a bit that there is a generation of folks that only know Cloud vs Colo. Colo is a walk in the park compared to cloud, assuming you've done basic PC building and networking. Heck, Cloud can be a walk in the park too for most use cases. If you don't have time to learn it yourself over a month or two, there should be folks available to consult. A lot can be brainstormed in an hour.
  20. This has very little to meaningfully do with anything, but I know someone that had long covid, and it ruined their life and career etc. because of barely being able to function more than a few "good" hours a day. They got covid again about two year later, was moderately sick for a week, and then completely healed, 100% back to normal. Absolutely blew my mind.
  21. Love it! I use a similar Powershell script for testing cabling/changes. Laptop left on in middle of office with speakers turned up. So handy.
  22. I just laughed out loud typing the title, but it is true. Not sure of the details, but Sweet Home 3d holds a special place in my heart, perhaps yours as well. Hoping for the best. Cheers from SF!
  23. Used PRTG for many years. Works ok. Has a free offering too. It's a bit of an artistic process figuring what to log and how to interpret it in an actionable way. Good luck and try to have fun.
  24. Kudos to NirSoft, and long live them as well!
  25. Lichess is one of those things you just have to sit and appreciate like a fine wine. It's absolutely wonderful for people in the chess community. I use it every day and am inspired by the functionality and performance, especially knowing it's a 1-2 person shop with limited budget.
  26. Klingon for animal?
