  1. How did this get so many upvotes? Did I wake up in 2004?
  2. Obviously I don't. But I was merely pointing at the fact that people don't really love their job but has somehow invented a story that make them believe they do.
  3. Is it just me or anyone else fed up with the startup community. I cannot find anyone who actually cares about values and have backbone.

The stories I grew up with of Wozniak, Jobs, Larry and the hacker community does not resemble them anymore.

Everyone I know who raised money is a moron or narcissist.

YC has became like a resume builder.

And the genuine hackers I know of are wasting life away working on pointless projects.

Maybe it's just me not being able to not get out of the daily job schedule and taking the piss out.

  4. Sure. I don't doubt it. But let's say if I can make a 100 million pounds appears on your bank account tomorrow. Will you say no to it and go back to your day job?
  5. All these are useless metrics. It doesn't say anything meaningful on the quality of your life. I would be more interested in knowing if he can now retire in next 5 years instead of waiting another 15?

Or do he now just just get to work for 2 hours and enjoy the remaining 6 hours doing meaningful things apart from staring at a screen.

  6. Yeah. But they can you have enough money to fix that. Problem is most users don't even make it to that point and over engineer.
  7. I think it's a bit opposite. If you are really paying attention you probably don't need to remember the event since you already processed it properly at that time.

You tend to generally remember stuff that you didn't process properly or generated a ton of emotions that are more than the baseline.

  8. I think it's not prepared. More like a willingness to be open to possibilities. Preparation assume you know something good is coming and can prepare now to face it. Those kind of events are probably not that life changing. Of course there are exceptions.

But best things in life come from opportunities that you cannot prepare for in advance. Just willingness to accept it.

  9. But company owns stock right? So they can sell those stocks no?
  10. Great news as Indian living outside US. More FAANG hiring in EU and India. More pay. Thanks Trump. Even plus don't have to relocate to US and can avoid this lunies.
  11. Tons of high paying jobs in FAANG and similar in London. What are you even talking about?
  12. Dude. All humans poop.
