  1. Is this VFS for read-only databases? Or can I query a database that has a single litestream writer somewhere continously making updates and backing them up to S3?
  2. I don't read them, but I listen to them on my commute (with a saas I made).
  3. Do you really need a human to ask whether you want fries with that?
  4. When did Snapchat move out of GCP?
  5. Didn't know there was a queue, how does it work? Readers upload the paywalled article? Does that mean uploaders can alter the version of the article we end up seeing?
  6. I uninstalled Cursor months ago because of that and am always surprised nobody else brings that up, ever.
  7. If you wanted to use litestream to replicate many databases (ideally, one or more per user), which is one of the use cases described here (and elsewhere), how do you tell litestream to add new databases dynamically? The configuration file is static and I haven't found an API to tell it to track a new db at runtime.
  8. Are you confusing Wise with Stripe, where he used to work?
  9. Is there something like OpenRouter, but for text-to-speech models?
  10. Does not look like a bit moat, is that different from the reusable prompt files feature?

  11. I have tried (stopped a couple months ago). The Python extensions broke all the time while they manually patched around the latest MS release a few days later. Syntax highlighting glitched every other day requiring a full reload. Remote dev via SSH or tunnels also randomly stopped working. Liveshare... Essentially they do not own the platform their core product is built on.

Maybe it's fine if you only do local development in other languages (Javascript?), but I completely swore it off.

  12. I added a fake .com record in my internal DNS that resolves to my development server. All development clients within that network have an mkcert-generated CA installed.

Not so different from you, but without even registering the vanity domain. Why is this such a bad idea?

  13. That is all I needed to know, preordered :D
  14. Would love to know if someone actually runs it reliably. Especially with a Workspace email address.
  15. Guys, I am still running my P2HR every day.

I, like most of us I believe (and we are dozens :), am using it with GadgetBridge.

I wrote my own watchface for it, in C. Also wrote some automation that periodically exports and backs up my data off GadgetBridge.

I would like to keep using GB, but my aging P2 might die any time now (already had to replace the side buttons, the plastic disintegrated after a few years) and I have been looking for a replacement watch that allows exporting my sleep data into GB.

NONE of the hardware currently supported by the app appears to make sleep data available in the way Pebble did?!

Please make new Pebbles, and keep them compatible with GadgetBridge.

  16. I wish Kokoro supported SSML... Is there a way to explicitly emphasize parts of the text?
  17. What I find funny is that the first country that banned TikTok, was China! (Yes, you can't access it from there)
  18. Similar tool I like and used to self-host for personal use: https://screego.net/#/
  19. One such microVM per month used to be within the free monthly allowance, is that not the case anymore?
  20. I know med students get to attend cadaver vivisections, is this accessible to others as well? (of course this may depend on jurisdiction and university practice, just asking in general in case anyone has experience).
  21. Interesting, how is compose meant to be used then? Just for building images and running local dev environments?
  22. I have gitlab-runner on my VPS, all it does is `docker compose up`, that already includes a traefik setup with LE certificates.

Zero-downtime does sound interesting though, and is probably better than `traefik.http.middlewares.test-retry.retry`.

  23. Can I not do all of these things with docker-compose already?
  24. Any usable alternatives to Translate?
  25. Yes, but...

Depends how you use it too. I have trained mine to only show me standup comedy skits. There is no live standup shows in my neck of the woods, but once or twice a month I do get entertainment value out of it that I would not get from other media.

  26. But you are not actually learning anything while doomscrolling.
  27. Are you some sort of writer/reporter or is this all for entertainment?
  28. NotebookLM is currently US only, limited to 20 documents (sorry, 'sources') per notebook, and only works with Google Drive.
  29. Or Pigo? it's written in go after all :D
