- handzhievIt's too windy for trees there, similarly to large parts of Iceland. People could probably plant trees that are not high - I don't know what species will feel good in this climate though.
- I'm surprised no one mentioned mPDF. Maybe php isn't very popular here :)
- The line of death is at 8,000 meters, not feet

- Computers are glorified calculators, yet they power most of our lives
- I tried it a couple of times in comparison to Claude. Kimi wrote much simpler and more readable code than Claude's over-engineered solutions. It missed a few minor subtle edge cases that Claude took care of though.
- No, because it's usually a few years old and already obsolete - the frameworks and the language have gone through a gazillion changes and what you did in 2021 suddenly no longer works at all.
- Has Mira shown anything from her new startup so far? Genuine question. I am trying to keep up with the space, but never heard anything about her after leaving OpenAI except that she got some investors.

- Many perfectly respect your privacy but don't want to be bothered reading 100 pages vague legal document from the EU.
- I don't think healthcare alone is stopping people from going on their own. What could a developer do on their own? Start a startup? Extremely hard and risky. Freelancing? Requires marketing and lots of other stuff most of us suck at. And the freelancing market isn't that much better now either.
- If such a ban is in power, many companies will either close or move abroad. It's as simple as that. I agree, it will be totally destructive.
- How is this not on the front page. It's a remarkable release.
- How much time does a top sprinter take a 100 m run for compared to a mediocre sprinter?
- I've heard similar statements about human translation - and look where the translators are now
- Teeth treatment alone is enough to be very very thankful that we live today vs even a century ago
- You may be surprised but the majority of people who own stuff do not worry whether they should get a third monitor or a new kitchen appliance. We just use some items and don't care much about them. If the TV breaks I'd look for a new one, but otherwise I don't care.
- Everyone who has been to Japan in the last 20 years or so could argue about the quality of life. Japan is not quite "shiny" and people are not rich.
- Genuine question: is someone starting projects in Perl/Raku? If yes, what made you choose it?
