- glaslong parentHmm even if it were causal it would be worth it. It's not a stretch to say my cats once saved me from worse.
- They'll come down some day, but between the massive ai co purchases, and how long Micron says it will take to bring up new production capacity... most estimates I've seen are that it stays high (or grows higher still) until at least 2028.

- I find it’s really similar to having a team of junior devs under you. Lots of output, generally good for problems that are googleable, need heavy guidance if the problem is both new and niche, lots of subtle bugs.
The first two points in @gavinray’s methodology being unfortunately critical.

- Generally for photogrammetry you want to aim for more diffuse lighting. Avoid direct light sources as they will cast shadows onto your subject that get baked into the texture. Cloudy days or light diffuser umbrellas are helpful.

There are methods for de-lighting, but it’s better to just capture without if possible.
Or if you want to get fancy you can build a capture rig to create intentional shadows and process them into texture normals with something like Substance.

I never knew the man, but personally I feel like I have a greater appreciation for who he was than if the In Memoriam had only mentioned positive contributions. It makes him feel more real and human to me.
It‘s certainly bad form for someone in leadership, but in the same way that I appreciate leaders who break from PR spin to acknowledge and explain the nuance, I also appreciate a more balanced remembrance.
- It definitely runs up against social taboos to speak so frankly of the departed, but I find it refreshing personally. I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but were I to die tomorrow I would actually prefer that the whole of my life is remembered:
- Accomplishments recognized, good and bad.
- Loved ones given space to grieve.
- And anyone I may have hurt allowed their feelings of relief.
Our legacy is what we leave behind, not just net change, or the parts we wish it to be.
