- emjoes1Is that any different that the media or cancel culture?
- The EU - "it would be a shame if something happened to your business model". idk it sounds like the EU is becoming more like organized crime in how they act - "and hey we need you to make a way to break E2E encryption so we can monitor".
- Maybe this explains why people on tv seem uglier now than 10 years ago. We must have a war on beauty now.
- What is the great oxygen holocaust? Odd choice of words.
- Are we all not bias in some way. Anymore, just an opinion counts for that.
In a conversation with a father that allowed his daughter to choose her pronoun I mentioned that is as dangerous as a parent that allows their child to eat only cake for dinner - he instantly labeled me as a conservative.
In a conversation with a stranger about a friend that cannot hold a job I mentioned how I wish there was some sort of UBI program that would allow him to at least live a basic life - he instantly labeled me as a liberal.
Are not our opinions now considered biased just based on our opinion... so we just should not have an opinion.
- Why would anyone use an online service for this anyways. Why not just use VLC?
- Though, if your in a church that is virtue signaling then you need to find a different church.
- Others comments are great. I just wanted to throw out a couple of things my son and I enjoy - RPG in a Box which you can find on Steam is great as you can make a game without needing to write code but also supports scripting if he decides he is interested. Also doing the Build Box by Mark Rober is fun though a bit pricey.
- I understand trying to track misinformation but why are we tracking 'hate speech'? Tangent: If I am in a conversation with someone (a friend) and you over hear me saying 'that's gay' don't bother to come and tell me that's offensive. I wasn't talking to you and I don't think that is hate speech, especially in the context I was using.
I feel like society is trying to police too much shit. It reminds me of the old movie Demolition Man where he is fined for saying a dirty/hate word.
- Why would this story not be. It is described as "America's transmission story".
- Why not? Because an engine based on 'rotating detonation' could be more efficient than what is in current use today. An engine that can burn a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and Jet-A fuel is better than just Jet-A fuel.? Why is the first response always about burning carbon... at least this is getting people to destinations fast. Go beat up on people joy riding around in cruise ships burning heavy fuel oil.
- Lol and I thought this was a real phenomenon I have never observed or heard of.
- I have never heard of this. I did not see modern answer for this phenomenon is, do we know?
- Rich and poor, young and old, have this in common. I know many college educated and affluent people that can't manage passwords or multi-factor authentication. Oh and don't ask them to save recovery codes because they will put them in highly insecure places... and then forget where they put them.
- Rich and poor (young and old) have this in common. Most people I work with are college educated and utterly fail when it comes to managing passwords or multi-factor auth.
- Well said. I buy into your theory and $0.02. If we fall back to rules of polite conversation than trying to "fix" our compulsions then we don't even need a social network with filters or circles.
- Just had to chime in and say this was how it was when I worked in a Frito Lay warehouse. Lost 10lbs in my first week (probably water weight) because of the heat and labor required. Also same experience when working at Dixie warehouse. That is par for warehouse work.
- Wow, this was just a sad read.
I found the title "Hustling 101: How to Turn Your Code into Cash" to be more cringe-worthy. Sorry but Hip-Hop music/culture is what is keeping people down.
- Could not agree more. What I find odd is that this is how most of the people are I come into contact with. Most women I know, including my wife, desire the stereotypical life. She wants to stay at home while I work. It's not like any of our 'roles' are set in stone it is just how things happened. The few friends I still have are in similar positions with their spouses.
