- elnatroChildhood’s End was not bad, but it didn’t leave an impression on me. I thought that it was dated (the Spanish watching a bullfight when the aliens came, oh c’mon!). What did you like the most about it?
- No. It doesn’t make sense. Should we charge taxes to our dishwasher? People, especially non-technical people, seem to be embellished by the words “AI” and forget that that’s not more than a mathematical and computational process that seems like an intelligent being.
Funnily enough, the leader of the Sumar political party (junior member of the socialist government) was ridiculed by her words about AI (some weeks ago):

- Good premise. The stereotypes he wrote about Spain were atrocious.
- Were Xerox, Dec, or Apple burning investor money by the billions of dollars?
- What would be a good new laptop for this? Some Chromebook?
- Were they members of the governing party?
- I don’t understand why they don’t advertise this cpu as one capable of running local LLMs, because it can, right?
- Tangential question: Do they really expect people to pay 5 USD for creating memes? Are people paying for these kind of service?
- People who feel they are discriminated against other groups/cultures/etc.
Most of the time that feeling of “discrimination” is not supported by facts but some feel that way nevertheless, so the government leverage that to cut civil liberties, push back the opposition, or be corrupt and not be put on the spot by the society.
- I never understood how people thrive on noisy environments. They can work, enjoy, and even relax in places full of loud music, shouting, and constant noise.
I hate noise and need silence to relax, concentrate, and work.
- So, following your example, CloudFlare should stop offering the service to Spanish clients that allow them to break the law.
- If they want to operate in Spain, yes.
- Cloudflare does not provide the information to the court about the clients that do piracy.
- What are they then? It’s a regional police force.
- Then the title is wrong and should mention that “A Catalan policeman says that…”.
- Ara is a pro-secessionist diary so take their news about the national police in Spain with a pinch of salt.
- ClodFlare does not want to comply with court rulings. Not in Spain, nor in France.
- Is this generated by an AI, a Markov chain or schizophrenia?
- How is that related to the historical context I gave?
