    Understandable - the roasting is meant to be light hearted, we thought it was funny as it roasted us, and most of the people we've shared it with thought it was cute and fun as well. We are also a non-profit, we are not looking to raise VC

    we don't do LLM driven training, we are working on an ai-driven platform for tailored learning but I wouldn't call that training more of a replacement for traditional textbooks with a focus on DIY project based learning

    He’s right and everyone knows it. It's pretty blatant and there have been lawsuits settle rather than go to a trial that would surely reveal the extent to which this thing that’s obviously happening is happening

    How ridiculous, we will have to scale energy to meet the demand and it currently looks like nuclear will be the answer

    Any company that works with invoices from a number of suppliers. We had to solve this problem at DigiBuild, where every supplier seemed to have totally unique invoice formats (and even the same product names could differ between two suppliers.)

    Primordial soup is not obsolete, it just isn’t the whole theory anymore. That the early oceans were rich with minerals and proteins already is still accepted

    Elons lies are way different. He mostly is just optimistic about time frames. Since Sam Altman and ChatGPT became mainstream the narrative is about the literal end of the world and OpenAI, and their influencer army, has made doomerism their entire marketing strategy.

    Why? I would look at Occam’s razor, believing there must be an outer layer (or a creator of god) just leads to an infinite regress. It’s much more likely that the thing is just eternal according to that logic

    Instead of thinking of it as a bang in an existing space-time, the way to conceptualize it is the collapsing of a universal wave function from a superposition of all possible universal states. Of which our universe is just one potential possibility. Space time is a function of the collapsing state.

    Yet the most successful nations on the planet go against this economic wisdom and do subsidize industries they deem important and/or protect them with tariffs. The US did this until the 1960s. China does this now.

    It doesn’t elude people, they just think that the 80% of manufacturing that isn’t high end shouldn’t have left and that it was criminal for it to have been shipped overseas at the expense of middle America.
