so what is the choice? build an in-house office suite (and all the extra functionality)? use a sub-par alternative that doesn't even cover all the features?
i always find it funny how ppl shit on facebook as if any other social media site was orders of magnitude better. facebook is as shitty as you make it to be. follow shit reel creators and it will be shit. get into shit awful groups and it will be shit.
you could say the same about taking a picture of a special moment, it's a souvenir, people have been keeping things that remind them of past experiences since like forever
the software/architecture analogy works in many other ways, some concepts on functionality, reusability and modularity are very similar, but i guess that works for any complex system created to solve a user-specific problem
sounds like a really niche requirement to make such a strong statement. if there are no more tiling desktop environments it is because there are not enough users for them to be in such demand.
