  1. They've jacked the base price up from ~21k to ~27k. Certainly not almost twice the price.
  2. It's true.

edit: they have removed it in the minute since I posted this comment?

Archive.org still has it (see the section at the bottom "Running list of German support organizations for your kit bags"): https://web.archive.org/web/20251105103925/https://home.army...

  3. If you substitute just that one section with ripping CDs/vinyl you own it's still interesting.
  4. > Although an instrument of the U.S. government, the Federal Reserve System considers itself "an independent central bank because its monetary policy decisions do not have to be approved by the president or by anyone else in the executive or legislative branches of government, it does not receive funding appropriated by Congress, and the terms of the members of the board of governors span multiple presidential and congressional terms.

  5. The video says 128 cycles. Each cycle is 30 seconds, so it would take 64 minutes.
  6. The pay plan is "pre-order", the features don't exist yet.
  7. No way steam deck users should be expected to boot a live distro to fix a botched upgrade. It needs to be seamless and behind the curtain.
  8. I’m interested in this. Does this require a hardware zwave controller or does the lock talk directly to home assistant?
  9. Well a lot of people go there on business.
  10. How is that a nail in the coffin?
  11. Vendor lock-in.
  12. I recently installed self-hosted FreshRSS, an rss reader which can _create_ rss feeds from sites that don't provide them using techniques like xpath selectors.

  13. One of the few good reasons to pay for a VPN service that lets you choose a location.
  14. I tried this a while back but was put off by the fake "css".

They say "The dialect of CSS used in Textual is greatly simplified over web based CSS and much easier to learn." But I immediately ran into issues trying to use css that I'm familiar with (and it wasn’t even fancy). They should have called it something else and used different syntax.

  15. It is unreasonable to expect a judge to be a subject matter expert on every case they preside over. That's why they ask questions. That is a reasonable question considering there are ways of paying for twitter and ways of getting verified on twitter.
  16. > I hate the UI and how there's a bazillion non-removable fields that don't need to be filled in

Huh? That must be configuration on your project. I haven’t experienced that.

  17. Look for app versions of board games. boardgamegeek.com
  18. I think they are too smart to override it. See the Streisand effect. If the old subreddits go permanently dark, new subreddits with mods who don't care about the protest will fill the void.
  19. Check out the Breville pressure cookers. They use ceramic coating.
  20. The main page shouldn't be login-walled. I don't want to create an account just to find out what kind of content this community has and how active it is.
