  1. I was hoping absl::Cleanup would get a shoutout. I worked hard to make it ergonomic and performant. For those looking for something (imo) better than the standard types, check it out!

I'm looking at getting into software consulting/contracting. I've tried my hand at it before a bit (was a contractor for Google) but have not had the opportunity to explore independent gigs. As a result, I'm pretty flexible on pay and structure as I'm essentially just starting out in the space.

My background is a mix of C++ library development and full stack JS/TS. I'm quite fond of React and as of late I've gotten into AWS CLI via Claude Code. Please refer to my Linkedin for my work history (Google/Alphabet, Hudson River Trading/HRT, Facebook/Meta, Snapchat/Snap and others).

If you're looking for someone to do low level C++ work or high level Javascript/Typescript work, I'd love to chat and see if we can find a short or medium term contract that satisfies both parties.

Alternatively, I'm open to full time positions, but remote is a must. Thank you!

  3. Puts a smile on my face!
  4. Well for one, in addition to templates it has definition checked generics. That alone justifies it to me, but it's far from the only improvement.
  5. How is it inconsistent? The square brackets always mean "this was deduced" and the parens always indicate "this was passed in explicitly"
  6. Square brackets do not indicate "this is a type". Instead they indicate "these things were deduced from their context"
  7. Splendid reply! I'm a big fan of Carbon and so I really appreciate when people make solid arguments for its tradeoff space.
  8. And the Queen!
  9. My apologies. I wish I could edit
  10. Yikes! I wish I could edit
  11. Yikes! I wish I could edit haha
  12. It seems the music note emoji were stripped out. The first line is a quote from one of her songs.
  13. In my Tennessee mountain home, life is as peaceful as a baby's side

As an East Tennessee native, I love everything Dolly Parton!

  14. Did you read the article?
  15. It hasn't been released yet, but I'm very excited for Carbon :)
  16. I always get excited when I see Abseil related things online. I was a member of the team from 2018 until 2022 and had a blast getting to learn from the best.
