- Pc gaming is also massively cheaper than consoles these days so the lifetime cost is lower
- I think its the memory price checked and 32gb of ddr4 is a 170 eur while same size kit in ddr5 is over 400 now. If you want to build a cheap 1080p 1440p gaming desktop it all adds up.
- Reverse-engineered is a nice way of writing stole.
- Yeah after hiding it for decades and then trying to bury it in inquiries after public outrage.
- Firefox feels like an organization where the leadership is more focused on enriching themselves than the mission.
- A bored LLM that will constantly hit reload on hackernews hoping to see something new.
- Runs fine on my iphone 14
- I guess my romba is about to be banished to a private network now.
- Seems like a fine tuning opportunity
- I think the most annoying thing of a lot of modern games is the whole crafting thing that is bolted onto everything. But there are some real gems out there for old school gamers. I loved Baldurs Gate 3, Divinity 2, Expedition 33 and Disco Elysium for example as really fun and interesting CRPG's. It's just that the cost of taking a risk these days is to high for studios and most kids are playing "free" games for most of their time. So even though the market is big it feels like the "growth" is mostly in the "free" games part of the market which is terrible.
- Wait does it not need a rise as well to get the soap out of the clothes?
- My theory is that the keyboard team is composed of sadists that enjoy making us all ducking suffer.
- Its the whole layer of feature companies built on top of the core models what will pop (openai, anthropic, google resellers). Existing services will add AI bit by bit for features and survive. The core owners of models I think will survive (exception might be open ai, maybe). For the hardware there really are not that many TSMC wafers going around so max sales are capped for everyone at the newest nodes.
- Im capitalist in the belief of truely free markets. Im against monopolies or monopoly like structures. I can make a case for private equity being a cartel as well knowing how they use algorithmic platforms to price rentals thus collaborating on pricing while pretending they don’t. After all its a third party setting prices.
- I'm as pro capitalism as it comes but private equity should not be allowed to operate in the consumer housing market. They can develop and sell houses but cannot hold is my point of view.
- There is no extra wafer capacity anywhere in the system and realistically it will take several years to unstick that. So not sure where the slack is that will let sudden massive competition appear to compete with Nvidia on the newest nodes?
- Depends in the country. The Spanish system is completely siloed as the competence of health is by region and they all run their own systems
- He thinks he knows physics and engineering. I think few oh his projects did not end up in court due to problems with this understanding
- I always traveled with a feature phone and a travel laptop with just work stuff on it when going to the us. Nothing personal like email or other stuff on me.
