  1. I have not yet had an IDE-based agent give anything close to the CLI Claude Code experience.

So until it manages to do that, I’ll keep being bullish on what works.

  2. Because he said things that some people on the internet interpreted as mean, so therefore he’s mean and we should never associate with mean people.
  3. He acknowledges that mass importing Muslims into the UK is killing the country.

For some reason there’s a large swath of people who really don’t like people saying that.

  4. Not sure if you got the memo but we aren’t cancelling people for their political views anymore.

That’s not really a thing anymore.

Just because you don’t agree with his views doesn’t make it “not a good look”.

In fact, the ability to think outside of his cultural bubble and go against the grain is something that makes him great.

  5. Yep. It’s almost like living the right way has profound benefits over living however the hell you feel.

I’ll get downvoted into oblivion for stating the obvious, but if you’re tired of running yourself ragged you should turn to Jesus.

His burden is easy and his yoke is light.

  6. From my experience, this completely disavows you from an otherwise reputation damaging experience.
  7. Ahhh, there it is.

My rule of thumb with OpenAI is, if they don’t publish their benchmarks beside Anthropic’s numbers it’s because they’re still not caught up.

So far my rule of thumb has held true.

  8. Cool, I’ll be sure to adapt all of my writing to adapt to your particular psyche.

At no point in this post did the author assert they knew how your brain worked.

  9. Your argument is that someone sued Berkeley for posting free education materials online purely in the name of accessibility and not to make a quick buck?

Free education provided at zero profit to Berkeley, to great benefit to the public, and it was just the wholesome desire for subtitles that made the case?

    Bullshit.

  10. They got sued for not having subtitles… no thanks. I think I’ll blame the chucklefucks that thought, “Oh an opportunity for a quick buck” and resulted in everyone losing a valuable resource.
  11. What do you mean?
  12. I think it's less "going fast" and more "going fast forever."

To your point, you can blow through damn-near anything pretty quickly now. Now I actually find myself problem-solving for nearly 8 hours every day. My brain feels fried at the end of the day way more than it used to.

  13. 37signal's `signoff` script is sounding like a good play in the very near future: https://world.hey.com/dhh/we-re-moving-continuous-integratio...
  14. Can you cite an example?
  15. It actually really bothers me that somehow the long dash has become such a "giveaway" that now I have to consider how I write. I actually used the long dash a lot in my normal writing, but now that everyone considers it some sort of "giveaway," it's like a tic that I can't help but notice.

It feels very natural to me. But if everyone and their mother considers it a "giveaway", I'd be a fool not to consider it. * sigh *

  16. No, I’ll keep using the words that I want. I’m not going to be word policed by some twelve year old on the internet.
  17. Hmm... Let me go run it real quick without checking what it does.

    EDIT: OH MY GOD

  18. I fully believe there are misguided leaders advocating for "increasing velocity" or "productivity" or whatever, but the technical leaders should be pushing back. You can't make a ship go faster by removing the hull.

And if you want to try... well you get what you get!

But again, no one who is serious about their business and serious about building useful products is doing this.

  19. There is, in fact, a harness built into the Claude Code CLI tool that determines what can and cannot be run automatically. `rm` is on the "can't run this unless the user has approved it" list. So, it's entirely the user's fault here.

Surely you don't think everything that's happening in Claude Code is purely LLMs running in a loop? There's tons of real code that runs to correctly route commands, enable MCP, etc.

  20. Claude doesn't have permission to run `rm` by default. Play with fire, you get burned my man.
