  1. Looks cool and congrats on the $1k MRR! Is the app built with electron?
  2. I really like custom elements, I wish they were more popular.
  3. I suppose drawing rectangles as GeoJSON on a map is the easy part. How would you build the parking spots allocation within a selected area?
  4. How can you tell?
  5. This is great, thanks for sharing! I've been thinking about improving error handling in my liveview app and this might be a nice way to start.
  6. Unrelated, but v8.dev website is incredibly fast! Thought it would be content preloading with link hovering but no. Refreshing
  7. I love Svelte and v5 is real nice with runes, what an incredible update. It works amazingly well with Elixir Phoenix thanks to live_svelte package.
  8. Congrats! Love Phoenix and absolutely love LiveView
  9. I was skeptical at first, still am somewhat. However, I've been using OpenAI's app and its new search engine feature I can't see myself going back to traditional search engines.

I use copilot with Claude for software development, I cannot see myself going back to traditional autocomplete.

However, I do not see how else AI will revolutionize anything else especially now that they've hit the limits of what is currently possible with the technology of our time.

  10. A lot of you who are supporting this are unaware that to enforce this, EVERYONE will have to have an online government ID and the government will be tracking EVERYONE's internet activity.
  11. We should have this punishment for politicians and govt scamming people out of billions, too, then. Make it fair on all sides.
  12. Famous HN hug of death
  13. For sure! I don't work with Go so looking at it from a noob perspective
  14. Thanks for sharing! Browsed the source code and Go seems like a pleasant language! Either that or the author wrote very pretty code
  15. While I think this is a great improvement for building better UIs, it still boggles my mind that React, V in the MVC, needs an entire build step with that many moving parts and complexity.

Hopefully this improves the DX, though. I dread touching anything written in React that is older than 6 months.

  16. AFAIK Blazor and Livewire (Laravel) were both inspired by LiveView.
  17. Seems that 100 writes per second is more than enough for a typical CRM (for a local business).
  18. How is it for writes? Would a CRM type system benefit from liteFS setup?
  19. I'd choose using a native app over a web app or PWA

Especially lately with the mess that is modern web app development, native is currently the king
