  1. I'm not sure what makes any of this "surprising". Each ticket reads like "we replaced the computer that tailscale was on, it doesn't work anymore" pikachu face.

Yeah, that was a feature and the exact reason why we use TPMs. I guess it should have been better advertised.

  2. Dynamic Contrast to high, everything else off. Super resolution and motion smoothing? Disgusting.
  3. All he had to do to fix this was say "he drove forward" instead of set in motion. So close to a great simile.
  4. Not really. If that's your hobby you could easily do 40 hours a week, regardless of what the psychologists would like you to do.
  5. I have a room going on multiple years now.
  6. It doesn't have to be generic. You can assign genders, ideals, even modern ones, and it should do it's best to oblige.
  7. I think buyers just understand the value of a battery that they've cared for and babied compared to a battery with unknown history.
  8. The best thing you can do is ask the distributor or publisher. It shows them this is wanted and gets you answers.
  9. The math doesn't work when you calculate the same thing based on buying low mileage used cars or leases.

You're throwing large amounts of equity away every 4 years.

Also electric cars get killed on the depreciation curve.

  10. If the next update fails to remove ads on by default we can assume these are empty promises.

  11. The tell isn't the emdash alone, it's the emdash character being used in place of a dash.
  12. The government committed that genocide...
  13. genocides are happening online? That's pretty remarkable.
  14. Yes. The internet is awesome and the government will destroy it.
  15. I like how you're careful to use the "west" because if you had said US your argument would have been laughable.
  16. I dont believe it would be even more circuitry. 2 exposed pins and maybe a diode if you really want some protection. They did this to sell more rings.
  17. > Is it time to rewrite sudo in Zig?

If there's one constant it's that they'll never be done rewriting Linux instead of doing anything new.

  18. Yes. In fact I would trust such a system far more since a more procedural approach to the system would be much, much easier to spot bugs.
  19. Over 9000!!??
  20. I think smaller game sizes would hurt sales. Your first though on a 23gb game when other games are 100 plus is, why is there so little content?
  21. SpaceEngine is available in VR, you literally can today.
  22. I think there is new science we need first. The brain very likely uses quantum processes. We don't understand quantum mechanics yet.
  23. The article implies this is not a concern for "regular" people. That is absolutely false. How many people get their family photos when they finally decide to recycle that 15 year old PC in the basement?

How many people have a device that they may only power up ever few years, like on vacation. In fact, I have a device that I've only used on rare occasions these days (an arcade machine) that now I suspect I'll have to reinstall since It's been 2 or 3 years since I've last used it.

This is a pretty big deal that they don't put on the box.

  24. Yes cuz nobody ever thinks to search Google for something before asking.

excuse the passive aggressive form of this comment

  25. You would need to compare the data against the data of non-smart trucks. I'm guessing it's an order of magnitude more dangerous to be a pedestrian around a normal truck.
  26. This grain looks extremely fake.
