  1. This is not a political appointment, but if you have mentioned something even mildly negative about a certain person in the past, not only we'll walk you out, we'll probably arrest you!
  2. So hypothetically, a future Dem administration can deport right-leaning visa holders?
  3. There's actually a word for it - jawboning
  4. Don't be naive. There was no jawboning from the previous administration to networks to cancel someone -- especially someone who always made fun of the President.

However, this is a a classic example of violation of 1A. (I agree that the thing that was probably in the grey area was they asked Twitter to remove certain COVID-19 medical disinformation tweets -- But, come on, many people were consuming horse dewormers for COVID and dying. )

The right's cancel culture is a violation of constitution because it's the government that's doing the cancelling.

  5. He's the guy that blamed an ex-OpenAI employee after one of many Grok's fails https://fortune.com/2025/02/24/xai-chief-engineer-blames-for...
  6. Wilhoit's Law: Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
  7. FYI (for OP): check this fork out https://github.com/usagi-flow/evil-helix
  8. It is fascinating. He lies so much, keeps repeating those lies and somehow people start believing those lies.
  9. If you are ungrounded from the news, don't make smartass comments like "Nobody is going to deport citizens. You seem to have become ungrounded in your reality."
  10. I think doing illegal things gave him that extra kick. real innocent people and all.
  11. Michael Jordan famously said "Republicans buy sneakers too". This guy doesn't care about any of this and he's still the right guy to steer Tesla in the correct direction? Mind boggling.
  12. Rivian R2 is going to change the game. It's a direct competitor to the best selling Tesla (Y). I have an R1S (as well as a Y) but R1S is such an amazing SUV to drive. Especially in the bad weather.
  13. Remember that they are all controlled by one party, so everyone is willing to look the other way (and cynically, probably cheerleading it)
  14. (Not mine) This is like buying Twitter and renaming it to X
  15. kindle support would be great!
  16. They did the same thing during the hurricane in North Carolina. "FEMA is giving funds to illegals!!!".

The lack of any sort of fact checking and relying on community notes to do fact checking is just inherently flawed and works in favor of the disinformation artists. It's going to get worse.

  17. Of course, it'll give them inside track. This is crony capitalism.

When Musk was busy spouting off conspiracies about Biden admin, SpaceX still won a lot of grants. That sort of independence is going to be dead.

  18. The "algorithm" aspect of the platform has improved for me. Here's what I did -- I artificially liked a non-trivial number of posts of topics I liked (say CS theory, systems programming, NFL, Soccer etc). Now the "Discover" feed is good (not great but this is a start).

A few days back when I was starting out, the Discover feed was mostly random.
